Kasbah Rockers with Bill Laswell's "Kasbah Rockers", is one of the most interesting and fresh Worldmusic album of the last few years. Similar to Maghrebika, Kasbah Rockers know how to melt Northafrican/Moroccan roots with groovy Trip Hop, Dub, Reggae and Trance beats, innovative Electronica sounds, Raps, Oriental/Arabic vocals and the gorgeous bass lines from Laswell.
Its an intense voyage of 78 minutes, going deep under your skin. Many guests such as B-Net Marrakech, Maghrebika, Amira Saqati, Cheb Mourad, Oezlem Ylmaz, Makale and more do alternate the singing in Arabic, French and Turkish. The tracks "Bledstyle" and "Shta" were chose as a part of the soundtrack for Ridley Scott's new movie BODY OF LIES (feat. Leornardo DiCaprio & Russel Crowe). |
