4.0 out of 5 stars Great 1st MP3 player for the price!, September 3, 2003
This review is from: Kaser 64MB Portable MP3 Player (YF10064) (Electronics)
Although the Kaser YoFun-100 isn't quite as compact and data spacious as some other models, I don't know if you can beat it for the price and quality. Initially I had some problems with the formatting instructions, but a quick email and immediate response from Kaser pointed me in the right direction (impressive customer service-a big plus in my book). Make sure that when you first format the drive (it prompts you when you first plug it in) that you choose the "FAT" format. You will also have to reformat if you change the preset equilizer "modes" but fortunately it's a quick painless process.
Here is my pro-con list:
Pro
1. Inexpensive
2. lightweight
3. Easy to install and transfer files
4. Expandable smart media card slot

Cons:
1. No strap or clips to attach it to your body (I plan to attach some velcro for running)
2. No low-battery warning
3. USB1 cable is a little slow for file transfer (other models use the newer, faster USB2)
4. Only expandable up to 128 Mb

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Inexpensive Bare Bones MP3, July 13, 2003

This review is from: Kaser 64MB Portable MP3 Player (YF10064) (Electronics)
After a miserable purchase of a Classic MP6410 (avoid that brand), I exchanged the Classic for the less expensive Kaser Yo!Fun 100-64.

Here's why I love it!
+Plug and play use for windows 2000 or later = very easy to use
+nice full sound quality
+small and portable size (5/8" thick, 3" tall, 2 1/4" wide)
+displays track number, time, and scrolling song titles
+128MB Smartmedia expadable
+AA battery included
+USB cable included-USB is the best method for fast song transfer
+I filled the hard drive with songs in about half an hour (the Classic 6410 Mp3 took 4 days of my life and still didn't work, that's why I returned it)
+D.C. cable port in case you don't want to use battery
+Equalizer with Normal, Jazz, Rock , and Classic settings

If I had to be picky...
-display is not back lit
-no belt clip, or any sort of strap
-control buttons are small (but well labeled and fairly intuitive :-)
-ear buds are plastic (but seem pretty well made never-the-less)

-Windows 98 requires the install of the included CD
-It makes no mention of Mac compatibility

1.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't install Driver, No Support, February 17, 2004

This review is from: Kaser 64MB Portable MP3 Player (YF10064) (Electronics)
Wanted to use it to record voice and then transfer it to my computer. Recording seemed to work OK, but couldn't get the drivers to install on Windows 2000 nor Windows XP. The manual is the worst translated Chinese to English I've seen in quite a while, making it incomprehensible.

The Kaser Corp web site is awful and doesn't seem to provide any updated drivers. Tried to contact them, but never heard back.
