5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Second Volume!
This is one those unique series in a familiar setting. While the idea of changing genders is nothing new to anime or manga, within Kashimashi it helps to bring a comfortable feeling to this story. 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Second Volume!, May 9, 2007
This review is from: Kashimashi, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
This is one those unique series in a familiar setting. While the idea of changing genders is nothing new to anime or manga, within Kashimashi it helps to bring a comfortable feeling to this story. Picking up right where Kashimashi Volume 1 left off, Kashimashi volume 2 helps to bring more life to the characters, and show more how important Hazumu Osaragi is to the story's heroines.

Throughout the entire Kashimashi manga series there are several underlying themes which more flushed out within this excellent second volume. The yuri love triangle which was first seen as forming in volume 1 becomes stronger as Yasuna, and Tomari seem to declare war against each other over who will gain Hazumu's affections. Yet it is clear too that Tomari at least while fighting for Hazumu's affections, is unsure of how to deal with her feelings. Though she finds herself loving her childhood friend Hazumu she also now finds him to be of the same gender as her, leaving Tomari very confused and frightened over her own feelings.

Meanwhile Hazumu's seems increasingly unsure of what is going on between his, her, two friends as they fight for his affections.

A wonderful entry into this series that has let me longing for more!

The manga is very well written, but this is more of a notice for people interested in buying the manga.

Seven Seas is in the process of hiring a new distribution company and as such, the mangas are unavailable if the seller doesn't have any in stock. There is no ETA on when they will be available. Keep checking though!
