I've been using Kaspersky products for a number of years and this is the first time I've had a total failure to install. I bought this version to use on my three computers. The first one I tried is an older Dell laptop that I've installed three prior versions of this software on before. The first step is always to remove the prior version including the directory from the the C: drive which I did this time also. The machine reads the DVD/CD and appears to be working, unpacking files, etc. Then a text box appears that says: Installation Without Javascript with a text link below that that leads you to the Kaspersky support website if you click it. Below that in the box is an install button which I clicked. It looks like all is going well and then it asks to reboot the machine to finish the install. The machine reboots but does nothing else. I mean, this is just a basic low level laptop with XP-SP3 on it that I use to surf the web and look at my gmail. No massive, complicated pieces of software reside on this machine, it's really pretty simple and so should this install be (I love Yoda-speak)..

I ran through it all again up to the point of the text box and clicked over to the Kaspersky support site where I entered the "Installation Without Javascript" message. Unbelievably, (OK, maybe you would believe it!) this message is not found anywhere in their "knowledge base", not even something close, just nothing is found. This is so very helpful!

I tried the install a few more times with the same result but I don't have time to deal with faulty software in my busy life. And I certainly don't have time to deal with Kaspersky's support staff which will probably involve many hours and emails trying to figure this out. I'm just going to return this defective software back to Amazon and move on to another one of the top rated anti-virus software packages. Sorry Kaspersky, it was nice while it lasted!

Update: 01/24/2013 - I decided to give Kaspersky support one chance. I went to their website and left a message for customer support. They promptly sent me two emails, one with a ticket number and one with some suggestions as to what to do. The one that caught my eye was a utility to delete a prior version which I had already done using Control Panel plus deleting the directory structure. Apparently that is not enough (perhaps there were some left over registry entries) because once I downloaded and ran their removal tool the new version immediately installed. I'm upping my review to three stars and not four because I think that I shouldn't have had to go through this just to get the old version removed. Why don't they just include the removal tool as part of the distribution of the new version? Would have saved me a lot of time!

Downloaded the installer for Antivirus 2013 to update my current active subscription and installed in my Windows 8 Pro laptop. Works great! I don't know why some reviewers have problems in Windows 8... perhaps the built in software was not disabled? Either that or there's an existing virus on the system preventing the antivirus to work properly.

Windows 8 comes with Microsoft Security Essentials. Make sure it's disabled when you run any third-party antivirus!

I run a Windows 7 Desktop and Kaspersky slowed it to a crawl, making all tasks take 2-3 times longer than normal. Uninstalled and installed Webroot and all slow down issues disappeared. Very disappointing as I have used Kaspersky for last few years and considered it a great product.

This anti-virus is must for any private computer owner. Updates for this anti-virus are automatic or can be done with one click of the mouse. I have used this product for the last 3 years and have never been disappointed.

I have been using KAV for approx. 5 years now & have been pleased 100% until updating to the most recent version/update...Kaspersky Antivirus 2013. I'm not sure I will buy from this company after today. I am in the process of reinstalling the OS (windows 7) because the KAV update (2012 to 2013) crashed my PC. I have tried a system restore, repair, etc & have had to resort to restoring my PC to the original setting, like when I bought it new, 3 years ago because all else has failed. This will be the 1st time this PC has ever crashed & I'm not too pleased with having to reinstall the OS! I have never had an antivirus program crash my system, ever until now. I am using my laptop to write this review while my PC is being repaired by me. It's not labor intensive or hard to do. My problem is having to spend half a day getting my PC back up & operating.
All I have to say is... Caveat emptor!

was advertised as a one year anti virus....it says it right on the front of the box... after it was installed.....a window came up saying it was only good for 30 days... and it slowed down my computer....the topper is that it can't be returned just exchanged for the same thing... I talked to customer service and explained about the false advertising, and they gave me a return label and told me to send it back. Now two weeks later they sent it back and said I couldn't return it after all. .... So in summary they said it was good for a yr. buitt actually only good for one month, and I can absolutely not return it. They lie to sell their product and Amazon is letting them get away with it. Ripped off....... I still have products that keep popping up wanting me to buy things from the antivirus software I installed. I have tried and tried to delete all the residual crap that is on my computer but have to constantly deal with it.;

I paid $100 for a digital download of this product, and was told one month later by Microsoft technical support that this was incompatible with Windows 8. Microsoft says to uninstall Kaspersky and use Windows Defender instead.

I called Kaspersky and the customer service representative, Christian, would not give me a full refund, even though the company sold me a false bill of goods by claiming that Kaspersky would work with Windows 8. This is bad customer service. Kaspersky should stand by their product instead of trying to take whatever money they can get from unhappy customers.

This product not only slowed my Windows8 to a crawl, it caused my computer to shutdown frequently. I reported it to Kaspersky and was told, sorry but you had 14 days to cancel. We were having all kinds of problems with the new computer and were learning Windows8. We noticed it was using 80% of memory so we uninstalled Kaspersky and all the problems went away. I wouldn't buy this product nor would I recommend it to anyone. It was truly a frustrating experience with the new computer and even worse with the Kaspersky Customer Service. It doesn't even deserve a one star rating.

I have more than 6 Kaspersky Antivirus license, for the first time I tried to contact Kaspersky support, I submitted my ticker and no one reply more than 5 days, so I escalated my case to customer care manager, and since 28/04/2013 till 10/05/2013 no one even care to reply, I wonder how come such company they don't even check what case is pending. I will never pay cent to their product again.

I have been using Kaspersky 2012 with no problems, until I tried to put Kaspersky 2013 on two of my pcs. On both my pc and laptop the install failed due to not finding one of it's own files. Then the only option was to try a reinstall, and then as Kaspersky 2013 backed out of my pcs, it mangled the operating systems. One is XP(SP3) and the other is Windows7. Now both pcs are unstable, and the only fix Kaspersky has suggested is to uninstall KAV2012 and reinstall Kaspersky 2013. Nothing about getting my two pcs back up and running. I will never use this product again.
