I bought Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 early November 2009 but had to buy a new computer later that month. Since the new computer had Windows 7 I could not use the software on it. I tried to contact Kaspersky via ALL their channels, particularly a chat session, but after waiting almost THREE HOURS in the queue I gave up and bought another companies product. I have found that the virus software from Kaspersky is very good but the service is pathetic.

I have trusted and used KAV in the past. I am so disapointed in the 2010 KAV. My computer freezes and stalls alot. I am going to reinstall Vipre, they have found a way to go fast and protect.

If you have become frustrated with anti-virus software that indicates that it is doing it's job but your computer is still slow, look no furthur! This is the best anti-virus software out there, period! Do your research and it will always come back to Kaspersky, then read about Kaspersky Labs on wikipedia. They are based in Moscow, Russia with offices in the US and other countries. What Kaspersky does is brilliant! Instead of waiting for a new virus to pop up like most anti-virus companies do, Kaspersky seeks out young computer geniouses and pays them money to create viruses, then they create a anti-virus solution against those new virues while maintaining protections against all other known viruses, so they stay one step ahead of these new viruses with updates every hour on the hour, instead of daily or once a week like the others do, to best guard against any new threat that could slip into your computer between updates. Finally, my computers run like new again, while staying protected!!

I chose this software from reading reviews that the program does not slow down the computer. That isn't true. I am so frustrated that it freezes up my computer continuously. I dont even have too many programs running on my computer at any given time. I run one program at a time.
The software is pretty good. Within a month, it caught 4 trojans and 3 malicious viruses!!! and a total of 1,500 risk and vulnerable objects.
I will not renew this software for one reason: I spend too much time waiting for the computer to unfreeze..
I am also disappointed that the program only allows for one computer!!! I find that a rip off..

After searching the web for anti virus software,checking comments,purchased this.I can not say enough.To save ,to get the product early,and working in minutes,Excellent on all fields.Thank you again for saving me money.

I have done research to find the best anti-virus software and this is rated #1. (MacAffee and Norton aren't even in the top 5.) This usually sells for $75, which makes it an even better value! Plus, it's the 2010 version. You can't find a better deal!

Have used the 2 prior versions of this product and really liked it. This one kept experiencing file corruptions and it never updated in automatic or daily mode and support was dreadful. Finally uninstalled the product and installed a free ms anti virus. What a waste of money.

I own Kapspersky and will not own another product since I think it does a better job of antivirus/trojan.

HOWEVER, it
will frequently get its database corrupted or sometimes blacklisted? Its terms not mine.
The only way to fix this is to do an entire uninstall and then reinstall it.
Ive done this about 5 times in past two yrs. In fact I did this today!!
But with 2010, when uninstalling (with intention of re-installing) it gives you the option to save the authorization keys.
But once it is re-installed, you have to wait yet again for the database update. Process takes about 20 minutes to 30 min.

ALSO, some new features are a PAIN.

1. anti phising,, I visit CBS Market Watch and many of the new features that site has have been getting flagged by K. I was unable to get popups I WANTED TO SEE. Customer support is VERY BAD! Yah you get replies, but 9 times out of 10 they are off topic or just pointers to their FAQs.

The Kaspersky URL advisor in firefox GREATLY slows down browsing speed ! I mean HUGE! I uninstalled it!

Forget McAfee, Forget Norton, Forget any other Anti-Virus and Security Suites you have been told about or read about. If you want hassle free and protection 24/7 with updates every hour on the hour get Kaspersky it's the best. And biggest bang for the buck, try it you don't have anything to loose, except viruses.

Ok so I thought I did my homework on getting a good anti-virus software product. I reviewed many different ones and settled on Kaspersky. There weren't any problems at first and I felt secure having this on my computer. Then my computer started having quirks in it several months ago, like always disconnecting from the internet every time it went into stand by mode. We always had to "reset the network adapter" in order to go on the internet. It was annoying but I blamed it on the Vista cause I know Windows Vista has alot of bugs. Then it got worse, we were unable to burn any songs from our Itunes Library onto CD cause some components were missing. The last straw came when the computer would just freeze up within 5 minutes on going on the internet, alt/control/delete did not work, I had to manually shut down each time and re-boot. Kaspersky always reported there weren't any problems found. I finally broke down and took it to the repair shop and spent $49 for a dignostic test. Low and behold our computer had a very bad virus which they had to completely wipe out everything and reload. Two days later when I picked it up and spent another $99 for the work, the computer tech told me he noticed I had Kaspersky on it and said he sees many infected computers with this. He told me it runs at about a 60% success rate and that nothing was 100% but Norton was the best at 80% success rate. Norton has some kind of proactive virus scanner that Kaspersky didn't and that it uses much less space on the hard drive than Kaspersky did, which can slow down your computer. So, even though I still had 3 months left on my one-year license with Kaspersky, I didn't want to take the chance with another virus so I went home and found a 2 month free trial of Norton (try before you buy). It scans and has live virus updates every couple minutes and I feel much safer using Norton. Don't waste your money with Kaspersky and get Norton! There's not even a difference in price!
