Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 (CD-ROM)
Replaced our Norton Anti-Virus 2008 with Karpersky 7.0 and our three computers are running much better and a lot faster. We are quite pleased with the tech support of the product, but found making a back-up disk impossible. Was told to wait until August when new edition will be out and the back-up disk procedure will be simplified. Very satisfied overall.

This is a very great anti-virus program. As soon as i installed it and ran a computer check it cleaned out all the viruses that wasnt detected by my old and free version of avast. It is also very easy to use..i love it.

The Russian Assasin,

I have used Macs forever but when I got a little bothered by 2 Mac hardware failures in the space of 2 months I saw a stunning red Toshiba Portege that was more beautiful than anything I had seen since my IIc and I bought it. My main worry as a Mac person ( and I still have 2) was viruses and hacking. I know that Windows ( even Vista) is a sitting duck. I have had Windows machines at work forever and having tried many anti-virus programs and suffered through the horrors of trying to uninstall ZoneAlarm I knew that Kaspersky was one of the least resource hogging options available. I also figured that since some of the best hackers in the world are Russian why not just go to the source and get protected by the Russians.
I used the accidentally bought Kaspersky anti-virus but then realized that I really needed the Internet Security suite. I downloaded the trial..and after a week of using it knew that it was the one for me. I am pretty computer savvy and every test I have thrown at it has been foiled. Best of all it is all rather discrete. The most I get is a small message telling me that a threat has been detected ( and dealt with) or that an application I downloaded has been placed in a high restriction category ( good for them for not trusting my judgment). I see no impact on performance and even during an update it uses about 11% of CPU and hardly any RAM. After the update ( hourly with Kaspersky...which makes me feel safer) CPU usage is negligible. I don't have any connection to the company but with an easily understood interface, almost no intrusion in my work and a seemingly Ft Knox shield I am very pleased with Kaspersky. Other than adjusting to the weirdness that is Windows Vista I sometimes forget I am not using a Mac and at all times I feel I am about as protected as I was using a Mac.
