I'm a network engineer and have tested a number of antivirus products on corporate systems as well as in the home environment. Quite honestly, Kaspersky stands head and shoulders above the rest. While other brands of antivirus software have become bloated and ineffective, Kaspersky continues to focus on one thing-stopping viruses. Kaspersky has the best detection record of antivirus software in many tests and has received ISCA certification as well as the VB100% awards on all platforms.

Kaspersky also uses fewer system resources than most other products. When the scanner is running there is virtually no impact on the PC's performance. I use it on all of my home PC's, and when the scanner is running I usually don't notice it if I'm working-even on an older system with a slower processor and 128MB of RAM.

I highly recommend Kaspersky anti-virus software. It does what it is suppose to do and it does it very well.

Kaspersky,Nod32,Bitdefender all be excellent Antivirus products.

Pros: I have tried quite of a few antivirus products. Avast,Avg,Antvir,Norton(bad experiences with that:never again), F-Secure, Panda, Eztrust, Fprot. I current have licenses for Nod32 which I consider to on par with Kaspersky and Bitdefender 8 and 9. If you purchase Kav 5 you are entitled to upgrade free of charge to Kav 6 which is about to be released and can even download it and use key from Kav 5. I use Nod32 on my game machine and Kaspersky 6 on my work machine. Kav 6 seems to use less resoures than 5 and may replace Nod 32 with it. I really like the interface. Many reviews cite this as a drawback stating that it is awkard and not easy to contend with. Nod32 on the otherhand is at least to me somewhat more complicated at least to setup initally.

Kav,Nod32 Both run great even on lower end systems.

Cons: Did not like Kav 5 installing Ads Streams although you have the option not to have them installed when your first install the product by uncheck the Operate according to standard procedures and unchecking appropriate radio bar. Also you may want to uncheck the remaining radio bar if you have Zonealarm installed. Your are given the option to remove the streams when Kav is uinstalled.

Kav 6 : No Ads streams are installed.

Other Thoughts: Downloaded the latest build for Kav 6 which is quite stable now the final should be out very soon and install it. It will automatically remove Kav 5.

I read on Kaspersky Labs forums that that Kav 6 will allow conncurrent use on 2 PCs!!!!!!!!!!

I've used Kaspersky for the past year - quick, reliable updates and extremely user friendly. There are so many anti virus products out there to choose from but I would definitely recommend this one!

Based on the rave reviews I saw on Amazon below I bought and installed Kaspersky AV Persona 5.0.

1)On the plus side, it found several Trojan horse programs and deleted them.

2)On the huge negative side I can no longer run Internet Explorer (blank window opens and then shuts), nor can I use Windows Media player, same thing happens.

3)Another big negative -No support! I emailed support telling them of my problems but received no reply.

If I can uninstall this thing, I will go back to Norton or McAffe.

used kaspersky products for many years. very reliable, great virus protection, always timely updates and helpful customer service. would recommend to everyone.

I recently downloaded a trial version of Kapersky Internet Security 6.0. IMMEDIATELY after downloading the program my computer experienced all sorts of problems -- extremely slow, certain programs not working, error messages poping up, etc. There is a list too long for me to remember. I then tried to uninstall the program and COULDN'T! I dont' remember how, but eventually I managed to uninstall the program. However, after it was "uninstalled" (i.e., if you went to add/remove programs it wasn't there), it was still sort of there (if I opened up Outlook, on the Windows start up menu). And what was worse, it was still causing problems. I tried contacting customer service, but COULDN'T because in order to contact customer service you need a product key, but since this was a trial version there was no product key. So, I sent a letter to sales which responded that I needed to contact customer service. Eventually I called (Russia) and someone offered me minimal help which did NOT solve the problem. I finally found on their forum something which solved the problem (and note, I actually haven't told you all the problems that it caused). Btw, lest you think the problem was with my computer, my computer is only 3 months old and didn't have a single problem until the VERY SECOND that I downloaded this program. That's why I say that whatever you do DO NOT BUY THIS PROGRAM!!!

I recently made the big mistake of downloading the Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 program on a 30 day trial basis. The program immediately slowed my computer and interfered with downloads to the extent that quicktime players,for example, would not install properly. Like M.Morris of Israel I tried to remove the program via the the control panel and couldn't. It is also impossible to turn the program off. As I have a new computor I will reformat the hard drive and nuke this pest program out of existence. Be warned.

I bought this sucker right here on Amazon because I too

had read the glowing reviews. I wanted to try something

other than McAfee and Norton and chose this. Had no

problem installing it, but it scans constantly

(and I have excluded many filetypes and folders from

scanning, with little improvement). It can take 5-6

hours to do a complete scan, and interferes with almost

every program I use. It has caused printer errors,

freezes my graphics program and always hangs the

computer when I shut it down.

Don't buy this headache! Phone support is non-existant

and email's go unanswered for several weeks (if they're

answered at all).

Install it and you've got yourself the "HAL Version"

of anti-virus programs (HAL--as in "2001,A Space Oddessy")

--it takes over your machine, slows it down to a crawl,

and can be a nightmare to uninstall. You've been warned!

As another reviewer wrote (George Washington), I saw the positive reviews and was influenced by them. This is a true dog. I too contacted (no phone) by email Kaspersky, received a number, no reply, then emailed them with the number, again no reply.

A donation to the Salvatiion Army or a charity of your choice is preferable. Like the other commentator (George Washington), go back to Norton or McAfee. Both are superior.

This doesn't merit a one, but it's the lowest allowed. It merits a minus 10!
