Book Description

Kat Porter is a consummate romantic, eager for her chance to find love and commitment. But after her boyfriend of four years, Marc, grows apathetic and sends her calls straight to voicemail one too many times, Kat finally musters the courage to confront him. Though she's no fan of ultimatums, she's at the end of her considerable wits, and lobs a massive one his way, completely confident that he'll make the right decision when faced with losing her. He doesn't.

With radio silence from Marc, Kat's lifelong dream of finding a husband and forging a family is decidedly on the skids. That's when her childhood friend Julie steps in, forcing Kat on a blind date to help her move beyond the break-up. Not only does Kat botch the setup, she instead finds herself in hot pursuit of Julie's love interest, Ryan Sullivan. A man who, in addition to literally taking her breath away, is the living, breathing personification of everything Kat wants in a husband.

Can Kat connect with the man of her dreams without hurting two of the people she cares most about? At the same time, she must also contend with the quips of her beloved catty coworker Adam, her bi-polar boss Brooke, and a string of unpredictable plot twists. All the while, Kat's cheeky perspective and generous heart will leave readers savoring every moment of her endearing and comedic journey as Kat fights to land the love of a lifetime.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Humorous Read! March 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This was such a great fun read that I just know (sadly) this review is just not going to do it justice.

This book had me hooked after the first few pages. The writing is fabulous and the characters are even better. This is filled with crazy antics, missteps, quirks, comedy and of course, romance.

Kat is everything I love in a contemporary romance character. She is smart, witty, strong, a little clumsy and completely real. She makes mistakes, deals with them and has some pretty amazing friends to back her up along the way. I adored her character. I just loved her sense of humor. I can't tell you how many times I laughed throughout this book because honestly, I lost track after the first couple of chapters.

This book is full of wonderful characters but my favorite by far has to be Adam. He was so funny and someone I would love to have as a friend. I think I laughed out loud at his antics and witty one liners as much as I did at Kat's (which earned me many funny looks from friends, strangers and family members along the way).

Ryan was a complete sweetie and I loved him from the get go. Heck, I even liked Marc and that is saying something because, I wasn't suppose to like him he was the bad guy, (if you could say this book had bad guys). But I couldn't help it, I had to feel for his character too.

I loved Kat's journey of learning to know when to let go, when to hold on tight and everything that happens in between.

Dina Silver does it again! Kat Fight seriously tickles your funny bone. Kat Porter always dreamed of being a bride. The problem is her dreams end up without a suitable groom. When her longtime off and on again boyfriend tells her to cool it, she feels like she'd just flushed five years of marriage investment down the toilet. Her biological clock is ticking, her confidence is shattered, and she's tired of watching "27 Dresses" for the 27th time [okay, maybe I made this up].

Along comes a handsome, sweet, sexy, charming man with a row of perfect pearly whites. Gulp! Kat's got her work cut out for her as she navigates the shoals of dating peril, dodging office politics, a miffed friend, a harried sister, and an adorable male friend who's all ears and much mouth.

Ms. Silver's voice is upbeat, humorous and self-deprecating. Kat Fight is an enjoyable read with a happy ending. You'll laugh and cheer for Kat and feel for her when she finally has the courage to admit her feelings and risk humiliation to chase down the slippery groom. A fun and delightful read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Adorable Read from Dina Silver July 9, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Dina Silver does it again with Kat Fight! I loved her first novel, One Pink Line, and couldn't wait to dive into this one. The book opens with Kat Porter in a terrible relationship with a guy who's always taken her for granted. They break up after she issues an ultimatum. Later, after being convinced to go on a blind date, set up by her BFF, she finally meets Mr. Right....except that Mr. Right is out with the BFF, not Kat. Sparks fly between them, and Kat makes a mess of things with the new guy and her BFF. When her ex steps back into the picture and decides he wants her back, Kat's life gets (ahem!) more complicated! There are laugh-out-loud funny parts in the book ... and the story is based, in part, about the author meeting her husband. GREAT JOB, Dina!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, Fast, Feel-Good Read November 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
LOVED it!!! This is the second Dina Silver book I have read this week! I love her writing as her characters and the situations they find themselves in are very real...I really connected to them.

Kat Fight is about Kat, a twenty-something at a crossroads in her relationship. Boldly she refuses to be a doormat any longer and gives her boyfriend of 4 years an ultimatum to either shape up or ship out. What Kat did not count on was he would ship out, thus the start her adventures in being a singleton for the first time in a long time. Her best girlfriend, Julie sets her up with a friend of her boy of the hour, Ryan. This is where it gets interesting because Ryan and Kat are clearly interested in each other. Don't despair there is not any blatant behind your back stabbing going on. Oh and just when Kat starts to think she has it all figured out, her ex realizes the error of his ways and wants Kat back.

The pace is perfect and there is humor infused throughout the story...I found myself giggling aloud often. I cannot believe I have just discovered this author! This was an extremely fun, fast, feel-good read...I recommend it!

2.0 out of 5 stars frustrating August 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Argh! I just wanted to shake the main character...She just seemed unfazed and catty...the story starts out with an interesting concept- "sometimes you meet the right guy at the wrong time." but I couldn't get past not like the characters.
I felt like the author spent a lot of time writing details and problems/issues for the character, Kat, in the beginning, and then in one paragraph "poof" she figures things out. It didn't seem realistic.
There was witty banter between Kat and her friends, but Kat isn't my type of girl. Every time I flipped a page she was crying. I dunno- I just wasn't that into this book or the writing and I've read the other book by this author and enjoyed it.
