5.0 out of 5 stars Let Beethoven be your inspiration
Usually I enjoy picking eye shadow colors one by one ( especially from MAC) but I'm always a sucker for Sephora's palettes from Urban Decay, Hard Candy and now Kat Von D. For the price of two separate shadows you can get eight in a gorgeous, slim compact that is ready to go anywhere. I'm guessing Kat likes Beethoven since she has his face tattooed on her torso and it...

1.0 out of 5 stars Drugstore e/s is better!
These eyeshadows are horrible, do not last at all, and are not pigmented in any way. They also are of a flaky, powdery consistency. I bought this palette thinking it would be a pretty good one, considering Sephora makes it but I was wrong. Even with the best primers, Primer Potion or Mac's Paints, it still came off, creased, and streaked. I will never buy this again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Let Beethoven be your inspiration, June 11, 2008
Usually I enjoy picking eye shadow colors one by one ( especially from MAC) but I'm always a sucker for Sephora's palettes from Urban Decay, Hard Candy and now Kat Von D. For the price of two separate shadows you can get eight in a gorgeous, slim compact that is ready to go anywhere. I'm guessing Kat likes Beethoven since she has his face tattooed on her torso and it lends a great name in this palette. The shades are smoldering and exotic with an old world charm.

The quality of the shadows - very silky and creamy, honestly probably one of the most luxurious eye shadows I have ever touched. They don't stay on forever but last long enough that when I look in the mirror at night, sixteen hours later, I still see most of it on. The compact itself is matte black with silver roses, very, very cute. It's also about ¼" tall and slightly longer than an iPod, I can fit it easy in my makeup bag. The brushes included are very unusual, I haven't used them yet since I like the ones I have from Sephora and MAC but they are slim and also very slipper/silky.

The colors seem harmless but are kind of unusual! Each one has a small twist, when I applied them I saw that they are engineered to be striking but still look good and not odd.

Lucifer - the name is scary I know but it's a simple matte black shadow that is usually hard to find. Great for drawing eye liner lines and for adding depth to any color. This color also comes in the other Kat Von D. palette.

Speed Blue - stunning dark mermaid blue, the deepest depths of the ocean with a silvery sheen.

Razor Gray - greenish silver, looks like molten metal, very striking.

Tequila - great for highlighting, looks like the silvery gold moon at night, bright and pearl like, shimmery but with no glitter. This color also comes in the other Kat Von D. palette.

Sinner - beautiful flat plum without too much warmth, on the cool mauve side.

Rad Purple - dark luscious purple with sparkles, great as eye liner paired with any shadow from this palette.

Leather - soft pale brown in cooler tone, looks great as a liner for a more natural look, I like how the brown is in the cool tonation, not reddish and warm like most browns. This color also comes in the other Kat Von D. palette.

Galeano - silver mauve, my favorite shade in the line up, brightens the lid with an unusual coloration, works with any eye color.

Best part about these is making up new color combinations, I like to mix and match them with my other shadows and liners from Urban Decay for striking looks. But one doesn't have to be wild to wear it, I'm not but I simply like makeup and this gives many options for diverse array of looks. It's fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Palette, August 2, 2008
Typically I don't go for palettes. Either I don't like all the colors, or you don't get a lot of eyeshadow in them, or something or another, but I could not resist the wonderful colors in this one!

It's easy to go from work to party with this palette, something I'm always looking for because I'm tired of carrying around a million little pots of eyeshadow and fifty-two eyeliner pencils in my purse, my damn purse weighs a million pounds! I also love the brushes that come with this. Not a single nasty foamy thingy on a stick to be found, rather you get actual little brush you can use to create a wide array of looks, you can even use them to apply the shadow as liner!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very pretty shadows and lasted all day...., June 2, 2009
I purchased this palette by Kat Von D and absolutely love it. It has a beautiful range of colors that can be used for day or evening. I wore it for 10 hours and the colors lasted pretty well. I am very pleased with them, so pleased that I've just ordered the Ludwig palette by Kat Von D. I will be writing a review on that one as soon as I get it in. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because the brushes included are useless. I purchased the Kat Von D brush set as well, so this wasn't a problem for me, but it may be for someone else. They would have been better off just including the standard shadow sponges. Overall, these are great and I highly recommend them=)

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful pigmented shadows, July 30, 2009
This review is from: Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette - Beethoven (Misc.)
All of the Kat Von D palettes are amazing and very gorgeous. Typically sephora's eyeshadows are ok but these ones are much better. The good thing about these colors is that you can create a wide variety of combinations from very tame to a wild look. The only two things that bug me is the brushes, they're useless and the matte black shadow in every pallete. But of course if you only have one it will not be a problem for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice color scheme, January 29, 2009
This review is from: Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette - Beethoven (Misc.)
I was unsure about what this would do for me. I love the color scheme. The make-up goes on dark and cakey. I'm not liking the tiny applicators that came with it. I like applicators that are broad and you can sweep it with a couple strokes. These applicators are good for when you need just a little bit of color on the end or corners of your eyes. I love the packaging, very sleek design, unique. I would buy this again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stunning color pay-off, September 26, 2009
This color palate is stunning. The intenseness of the pigments use produces a high color pay off. Rad Purple is my favorite of the palate and I only wish there was more it.

Out of all the makeup I have ever purchased, this is the only one with out of this world packaging. I almost felt as if I was opening a gift with the tissue covering the palate, lovely gold sticker and the rose artwork on the case. The cardboard package was designed beautifully as well. Her gift as an artist transferred into this make up line with stunning grace. I shall buy more of her make up as soon as I can.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Quality Shadow!, July 22, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have both palettes in the Kat Von D line, and I really can't pick a favorite! They're both great! Since I got them, (One I ordered on release back in June)they are the only eye shadows I have picked up to put on every morning. I just don't seem to need anything else!

Some people may be a little intimidated by some of the shades in them, but when you get them and mess with them, you'd be amazed at how great they look, and how many different shades and ways to blend them you can come up with. I never got so excited to put my eye make-up on in the morning!

Besides the colors, the quality of the shadows is great. Someone mentioned on another review here about them staying on....NO clue what they're talking about! I've actually gone to the gym or been outside biking on day in the 90 degree heat, and the shadow is still on perfectly! That's on the dramatic side, but it's the honest true, so I definitely think they have great staying power.

Side note---met KVD in NYC last week, and she's a definite genuine extremely nice person, so I feel even better buying and supporting her product line. I just hope she puts more stuff out!

4.0 out of 5 stars My favorite color broke...., July 23, 2011
This review is from: Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette - Beethoven (Misc.)
I love this palette but my favorite color, Lucifer, crumbled. That made me a little upset so my new favorite is the gray color. Other than that I have two of these palettes and really like them. The other once as a dark blue cream eyeshadow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like velvet!, January 10, 2011
These colors are extremely velvety and do not crease even w/o primer. You can layer for richer color or wear less for a lighter look. Extremely versatile and blendable.
