I read the other reviews on here and found that the reviews that others posted were for ferrel cats. When it comes to homes for a ferrel or multiple ferrel cats, then I am not the person with the answers. I am however the one who can tell you that for a indoor/outdoor cat, that the KatKabin was and has been the answer to our prayers. A few months ago we noticed that our cat of 5+ years was starting to eat and drink an enormous amount of food and water and was then having too many "accidents" in the house and the rug cleaning was beginning to get a little out of hand. This little guy is a huge part of our family...we have two labs as well and our cat thinks he is what we call, a "kitty dog"! They all get along so well and take care of each other. The thought of having to constantly watch our cat (and especially during the day while we are all at work) to make sure there were no accidents was virtually impossible unless our kitty man had free range outside. But then the winter came. Now, it hasn't been the coldest winter to date, but it does get pretty chilly in the evening and nights, so our only hope in succeeding was to find a winter home for our little man, so he could stay warm and dry and feel safe at the same time. The KatKabin has provided just that! I would also recommend getting the warming pad (which is currently backlisted and on hold til the end of Jan when we ordered it) and I also highly recommend the round velcro padding that fits nice and snuggly inside the KatKabin. The KatKabin also comes with a thin mat which we also keep in the house. I figure when we get the warmer mat delivered, we can keep the warmer between the mat that comes with the cabin and the extra round velcro wrap that we paid extra for to keep in the warmth. I think if you order those three things your little kitty will be in excellent shape while outside all night long if needed. There have been plenty of nights where a heating pad has not been needed as well. Don't let the other reviews mislead you.....this truly is an excellent product! Also, we have not put on the swing door yet but probably will in the next few weeks as the weather chills up....if I have any issues or suggestions on that, I will be sure to post when we put up the hinge door. Also, one last thing.....a more subtle color is good for not attracting attention to ferrel cats, but a brrighter KatKabin would be, so if you are trying to help ferrel cats a brighter KatKabin might work.....but if not, stick with the chocolate brown or the oatmeal colors....something more plain.....just as an FYI. Now I can go to bed at night at peace knowing that our little kitty man is safe, comfortable, warm and snuggled up all in his KatKabin, which gives us all such great peace of mind to know that our guy is warm, safe, and dry! I hope to put the door on tomorrow. I hope this helps.....You cant go wrong with this product!
