I took a bit of a gamble on the Kata DR-465 backpack. I wasn't all too familiar with the brand, but had read some stuff about them in regards to their video products, and it was all very positive. The DR-465 was no exception. The build quality ended up being much better than anything I had seen for this price range, easily surpassing the Lowepro cases and the Tamrac Expedition linup, which I really liked. For the money, this case is an absolute steal! The free Bogen Manfrotto monopod was icing on the cake, as it also appears to be quite well made. The benefits go far beyond the build quality as well. This case is extremely well thought out. From the yellow interior, which allows you to see everything, to the numerous clips, pull out water bottle pocket, neoprene zipper holders, height adjustable chest strap, leather reinforced handle, detachable self storing rain cover. The internal ribbed camera dividers are also fully removable/configurable. The size was also spot on for what I wanted. If you are looking for a rugged not-so-obvious camera backpack with plenty of room to hold 1 large or up to 2 medium bodies, 2-3 lenses, flash, and personal gear, then the DR-465 is undoubtedly what you are looking for. Chances are, you were like me, and probably just don't know it yet!

nice bag but my Nikon D300 bearly fits in the bag with a 80-200mm lens attached. I would go the next size up if you can afford the additional weight and size. Otherwise it is a very nice camera backpack. The monopod is useless for a full size dslr but, if you had a small dslr less than 3 lbs like a Nikon D40 than it works perfectly.

A decent bag if you want your gear in a knapsack. The upper compartment is just big enough for a body with a small prime such as a 50mm, and a battery pack attached. The lower compartment can be difficult to access in a hurry. This bag is well constructed, and will last a long time. The padding is adequate and in the right places. The monopod is functional and light.
All in all, a decent deal for the money.

My only reason for sending this combo back was the backpack- Kata DR-465 was just too small (interior) to hold my photo equipment, and the exterior was too small for my physical build. Otherwise, the products would have been fine.Kata-Manfrotto KT DR-465-BRMP Digital Rucksack Promotional Bundle with Free Manfrotto 790B Modo Monopod (Black with Red Accents)
