While I agree that the marketing strategy for the US and Canadian release of Kate & Allie left a lot to be desired, I am happy that these wonderful episodes made it to DVD at all. The casting, the writing, the acting... Watching these shows feels like coming home... and I have lived in Norway all my life!

If you loved Kate & Allie then you will love watching these old shows again. I love revisiting all the old 80's hairstyles and clothes! It is hard to believe this show is about 25 years old! This Cd set I bought had both the 1st and 2nd season and although I think a little pricey I have enjoyed it.

My husband and I never missed an episode when this show was on TV and it is great to now have our own copies of it.

For those of you who haven't seen this series on TV it's about two teenage friends both now divorced and living together under one roof. Jane Curtain plays Allie Lowell and Susan St. James plays Kate McArdle. Allie has two children and she moves in with Kate and her daughter. The first season only has six episodes to it. It was a mid season replacement and season two has 20 plus episodes. There are laughs and chuckles throughout this series and it gives a realistic look on the reprocussions on divorce with children let alone parents.

Allie is a bit nerotic and Kate still acts like a teenager. The fun and laughs are definately worth getting.

Remember when shows were funny, topical, and light hearted? This is one that got it right. They deal with divorce, starting over, and parenting. All with warmth, intelligence, and those crazy 80's fashions. I have not seen a show since that deals with relevant topics that kids can watch too. I enjoyed it when it first aired, but appreciate it more today.

disappointed in the package that holds the 2 dvds it totally fell apart when i opened it up.i like to keep the dvds with the holders but oh well will have to come up with something else.

This is the sitcom which reignited the sitcom genre. Great writing, great stories, great acting by all. I recommend this show for anyone who wants to have a good laugh and be entertained by a good story too. It sure does feel like coming home watching this and I live in the UK.

I remember watching this on tv years ago and really liking it. I finally found it here and a vendor who does international shipping and got to watch it again. It's still great - it's nice to watch clean, old fashioned shows. I'm also a big fan of the main actors.

I am glad that VEI put out this dvd set. My wife and I watched this show every week back in the 80s. It was a funny show and we really enjoyed it. The picture quality is fantastic and the sound is crystal clear. Now I just wish VEI would put out the Sixth and Final season. Is VEI still in business?
