Better than I expected,
By Edmund's Lady "Lady Alyce" (Massachusetts) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Katherine Howard (Mass Market Paperback)
"Girls just want to have fun" and the saying was especially true in regard to silly young Katherine Howard, Henry VIII's 5th queen.
This book is part of a 6 book series by different authors in which each wife is given her own story. And though Katherine's is not my favorite of the novels, it's well written and casts the poor little adultress in a sympathtic light. Rather than portraying her as a connivving gold digger, there's an innocence to Katherine, which is truly pathetic in light of how she meets her fate. When I purchased my original copy of this book over thirty years ago, I didn't expect it to be such an entertaining read. However, I was pleasantly surprised and finished it easily. The book can be read by itself but I found it more enjoyable to own the entire series, which, unfortunately, must be purchased separately. |
