This review is from: The Katy Railroad and the Last Frontier (Paperback)
This book is very educational and fairly easy to read. Follow the passage of the settlers as they sprawled from the Midwest down into Texas; learn how Dallas came about, when Fort Worth was originally the big town; GREAT READ for the non-fiction reader, especially if you live in the midwest.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Katy Railroad, November 17, 2008
This book is a "must have" for railroad buffs. It contains many black & white photos, pen & ink illustrations, and old maps from the frontier era.

It depicts the construction problems involved in building a railroad line through Indian territory.
