Beautiful, dark mysticism from Finland,

Beautiful album. Kind of reminds me of being in an long-abandoned Finnish summer cottage on autumn while contemplating the thought of suicide.. The first track, Näkin Laulu, is by no doubt the most shiny gem of the album where as some songs sound a bit like some old Finnish ballads ("iskelmä"). While they play more like gloomy folk songs with acoustic instruments and sort of in a progressive rock kind of way, Tenhi has this certain metal-thing going on in the background and I think the resolution works very well, especially if your into Finnish folklores and mystics and/or folk music in general. The music is very polished, songs are well arranged and the instrument playing is good. This album would be certainly one of my recommendations if your thinking of a souvenir from Finland since this works just fine for non-metal listeners also (if you liked Ulver's Kveldssanger, you're most likely gonna dig this one too). For those pitch-black autumn nights preferably with some cheap red wine.

Melancholic, dark, entrancing folk from Finland. Very melodical...Makes you think about northern landscapes like the one on the cover.

I like this album a lot...if you are into dark folk music look no further. There are not too many bands out there these days that drape the listener with tons of emotion. So, check it if you wish to stand amongst the fall leaves in another land, when ever you put this CD in...
