First of all I am a mother of 5 and have had a love hate relationship with cloth. I have used other brands of cloth and disposables but, Kawaii diapers have won me over and cloth diapering in general for future potty training reasons.

First of all I believe we have more kids in the US not night training due to the use of pull ups and disposables that work so well the child's body does not feel wet and there is a glitch in getting the info to the brain to train. Do I have science to back this up? No just 3 kids who all had a problems (used mostly disposables) one has not so I am working with cloth on number 5 and we shall see.

Two, I am able to purchase a year's worth, 24 diapers or so, for about the price of 2 months' worth of disposable diapers (they have a great black Friday sale $5 diapers) on their website. This being said I only use the expensive disposables when I do use them so it is not only about money.

Thirdly they work!! and Kawaii has many options to work for the new to cloth mom. I purchased 10 of the smaller 6-22 lbs for the first 4-5 months (I admit I use disposables the first month, hey at 14 diapers a day it is just easier) then used the AOI Good night heavy wetters for night and the adorable Bamboo minkys (the inner lining is bamboo cloth) and other styles, see their website, snaps and velcro styles, for the daytime. If you don't know the cloth lingo yet (one size AOI =All in one diaper, this means it is not just a diaper cover and cloth underneath, but a diaper shell that is waterproof and bamboo or microfiber insert to stuff into it with adjustable snaps that go from 8lb to 35lb baby, Minky means is the outside cloth being very soft and plush).
I have never had a leak with the last 2 kids and they fit very nicely.

I love these! My son (17mo) kept waking up sopping wet. My friends told me to buy these; I have two and plan to buy some more. My son is completely dry all night and even into the morning. I add a fleece liner for extra stay-dry protection so in the morning he's dry & his skin isn't red.

We couldn't find anything that could keep our 8-month-old dry overnight. He wet through his bumgeniuses in half a second, it seemed like... we tried EVERY disposable you could buy... Then a friend recommended these plus two bamboo inserts and bam, works like a charm. Dry happy baby in the mornings. :)
