I checked out many low cost saws at Home Depot and Walmart etc before ordering this from Amazon. I would rate it higher than all the other basic models now that I have used it. It has a solid feel, is smooth running and powerful enough to do most home owner jobs you will ask of it. Unless you're in the business, don't waste you money buying something more expensive, they all cut wood and light metal. This will do the job... and when you're not using it, it is sitting in the tool shed "not" costing you money;)

I needed to install a cat door. I ordered this saw at a price cheaper than I could rent one. It sliced through my wood panel door with ease. It comes with 2 wood blades (red) and one metal cutting blade (blue). It's powerful enough for household needs but not major cutting.

I have only had a few cuts to make so far but the tool seems to do the job as expected. Good construction and and the speed selection is a good feature. Constant on engagement of the trigger is tricky and really should have a seperate button to engage. I was shopping price and feel I got good value for the low cost.

Not a heavy duty machine but of course you have to pay for that. For home use it is fine. I have to return the first one i received because there was something wrong with the part that holds the blade. Amazon quickly sent a replacement and the second was ok.

it's a bargain; I was able to cut some metal on my bird cage without problems.

I plan to build about 20 earthtainers and needed an inexpensive jigsaw to simply the cutting of the tote containers. The saw arrived well packed and with no missing parts. Documentation was adequate and to the point. The saw had no trouble cutting through the 40 totes I used to make the earthtainers. It came with three blades (metal, wood and plastic) and a two year warranty. Saw seem well made and should last for many years if taken care of. I'm pleased with the purchase.

I cannot make an induction that all the saws will be this way, but the one I bought was rather skew - in order for it to make a straight, 90 degree cut, I have to hold the whole machine at a skew angle. So if I want to cut a line 90 degrees from the horizontal, I have to hold the whole machine about 115 degrees fromt he horizontal - this is not how the machine should operate. Basically, it holds the blade in skew.

This is a nice saw for the amateur woodworker. It seems to be well made, convenient and safe to use and reasonably priced.

For the price, this is a great little tool. No problems, but you need an allen wrench to change the blade out, which is kind of a pain. If you use a jig saw a lot, you might want something with quick-change blades.
