ExOfficio's Game On Kayak Fishing, June 4, 2009
This review is from: Kayak Fishing: Game On (DVD)
The footage captured for this video on Kayak fishing is exceptional and inspiring. My 9 year old and I watched this video and now we both want to own a Kayak and fish from it whenever possible. The areas where one can fish and the closeness to nature that can be achieved in a Kayak is unmatched by any other watercraft...this video is cool and needs to be a part of any library where outdoor activities are a focus.

Mis-leading - High Price tag for what you get, December 10, 2009
This review is from: Kayak Fishing: Game On (DVD)
The video is "decent" but not worth $29.95 in my opinion. The BBC series Planet Earth is the same Price and you get 4 DVD's.
CONS
1) If you don't catch fish why even put it on the video? For example, the Striper section in Virginia. The editorial review said you could expect to see video footage of Striper catches. Uh...there wasn't any.
2) The Baja marlin section was brief at best. I know they had to have had more footage than that.
3) Where is the actual audio? Most of the audio was narration over fishing scenes. I like to hear excitement.
4) Very little underwater footage.
5) High Price tag for a short video.
PROS
1) I like the Jim Sammons biography and his take on how fishing is about the people and relationships you build
2) The Ottowa River stuff was cool.
3) Alaska trip was cool. (Footage could have been a bit more up close and personal.)
4) Tarpon stuff between all the boats...Killer....wish there was more of that.
I think the video should have been priced around $15. I would have given it 3 stars if priced at $15.
