A real sinker!,
By Dee Jay (Malaysia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kayaker's Little Book of Wisdom (Paperback)
Ordered this for a present to my kayaking husband, and we were both puzzled and disappointed. I had anticipated more poetic and meaningful words of wisdom, so to open and find "Never leave on a road trip without a copy of 'Playboy'" was not a good start. There are a few good points of advice "The price you pay for a helmet is how much you value your head" - but that's it I suppose, if you want a book that is like a grown up boy scouts guide of the dos and dont's of kayaking this is the one for you!

Corran Addison's little book of wisdom....,
By A Customer
This review is from: Kayaker's Little Book of Wisdom (Paperback)
Fun if you can read it in the right perspective, i.e. if you're heavily into freestyle or extreme kayaking. E.g. the wisdom "it's better to die in your boat that it is to swim" should rather not be taken literally by beginning kayakers.... If you know a little about Corran's background, it's quite entertaining though!

Entertaining, amusing, insightful,

Contradictory and amusing, witty and sarcastic, Corran Addison, the bad boy of whitewater kayaking shares his wisdom with the rest of us. This book is a must for long shuttles and makes entertaining reading.

Truly dreadful,

Trite, immature, and lacking any really useful tips. Tips like "get an internet server for long trips" are technically incorrect and completely useless. This is an advice book written by someone who needs to grow up before he gives anyone advice. But it is completely in keeping with Corran's public image.
