5.0 out of 5 stars Great boot!!!, June 19, 2011

This review is from: Kayland Men's Vertigo High Backpacking Boot (Apparel)
I bought these boots for hiking/ light mountaineering in central Alaska, where it's very wet, sometimes with miles of swampland, and so far these boots are awesome for everything I've used them for. Would definitely recommend them!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, great color, traction and fit, December 27, 2011

Only problem is: the rubber lugs near the heel have separated from the cushioning foam on one boot. The sole rubber is pretty high quality, so it flaps and is tearing a bit, but the lugs have not fallen off yet.

I tried a half-assed job of cleaning the boot and re-gluing the sole together with bike tire vulanizing cement. Came apart again very quickly.

These boots are so sweet, hovever - I continue to use them in the condition they are in. I will pay a cobbler to repair the sole, definitely will be worth it. I got a really good deal on the price for these.

There is hard to comment products like this. This is not something what we buy blind. I was fishin' for gr8 deal and finally showed up $110 this boots and my size. I took 'em little bit afraid about size. Some folx say it feels smaller. I wear everythin' one size and double EE if possible. I have really massive foot with high arch. It fits. It will take few walx 2 got 'em fit perfectly but I feel comfortable. Boots are side strong lessen posibility to twist ancle by slip on rock or tree root. High-end quality and purpose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Boot, November 28, 2011

I have made multiple treks along the AT in Pa in utter anguish due to inadequate footwear. The rocky terrain is unforgiving both uphill and downhill. I don't recall any flat areas. These boots proved invaluable over the 20 mile hike made last weekend. As is the norm, I was overpacked (65 lbs. +/-), to accomodate my kids that make these trips worthwhile. The usual downhill peril of feeling hot spots as my feet touched upon each rocky stepping stone under load was not existent. This was my first attempt at buying quality shoes for the trail. I am very impressed and would encourage you to try them for yourself.
