5.0 out of 5 stars Great hiking boot
I recently returned from hiking to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro and I wore these boots, which I had just purchased recently. I wasn't familiar with the brand before but these are great hiking boots. Light and comfortable yet with great support. Best of all, I didn't have any spot on my feet where they rubbed and left a blister. I highly recommend these boots!

While these boots are attractive, they are far from durable. While there are many glowing reviews to be found for these boots, most of the reviewers haven't put any serious miles in them. I took these out for a 5 day backpacking excursion in the Grand Canyon and by the second day, the outsole had already begun separating from my right foot. By the time I climbed out on the fifth day, I easily could have removed the outsole from the right boot with my hand, and the outsole on the left boot was also coming apart. It wasn't entirely surprising since the soles are only secured with glue. The corners cut to make these boots lightweight were also evident in the provided cushioning. Plan on sore feet if you spend any time walking over scree. If you spend most of your time walking on groomed trails, this may not be an issue.

I have had many pairs of boots. Some I liked, most I wish I hadn't bought...but these I love.
Durable and comfortable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Italian Quality Boot, August 24, 2011
I ordered these boots a full size larger than I normally wear (9 1/2 to a 10 1/2) and I'm so glad that I did. Very comfortable and built for scrambling and moderate backpacking. I would not choose this as my standard day-hiking trail shoe since it is a bit stiff and heavier than one would ordinarily need. Nice scree collar and aggressive Vibram sole as well as excellent support. Capable of taking on crampons if needed. I bought the "Mud" model that my grown daughters thought was "hot" if that is a consideration!

Broken in right out of the box...solid hiking and light backpacking boot...waterproof...pricey, but I'd buy them again...I only have about 20 miles on them and am looking for excuses to get out and enjoy them again soon.
