5.0 out of 5 stars an awesome book to read
It is about an Irish soccer player finding his way to glory.
I like how he got to where he is now. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is a soccer fanatic!

3.0 out of 5 stars More Keane
Having followed football for a few years and being familar with Mr. Keane's antics on and off the pitch, I thought this was going to be a little more entertaining. It was a very good read, but I can't imagine the author is this drab. He is an Irishman!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Book but needs MORE....., March 19, 2005
This review is from: Keane (Hardcover)
I enjoyed the insight from an obviously first hand perspective into the greatest club team in the world and the Irish national side. I would of liked more anecdotes from Keane about his relationships with other players -- teammates as well as adversaries. To the casual football fan this is a good read, but I expected more from Keane.

This book is a candid look inside Roy Keane's thoughts. He freely shares what he thinks about the game, opposing players, teamates, and many other subjects.

Keane has been criticized for writing this book because he is blunt in his assesments of people and situations. However, this is the strength of the book, because if Keane had watered it down to be "PC," then the reader wouldn't hear what Keane really thinks.

Nobody will agree with all of Keane's thoughts, that is a given, but it is interesting to see his development as a player and person. This book provides the football fan with a glimpse into the mind of a superstar, and whether you like Roy Keane or not, it is a very good read that is enjoyable and insightful.

5.0 out of 5 stars On the 7th day God made KEANO!!!!, October 18, 2003
This review is from: Keane (Hardcover)
I love this book. I think Roy is one of the best and most interesting characters in football. From watching him play with man utd I have seen how just having him in the game can totally change the way his teammates play and the outcome of a game. I loved reading this book and I love Keano!!!

For anyone who actually understands the game of football, and has a desire to glimpse the innerworkings of one of the most passionate, hard grafting and complete players of all time, this book is a must. Roy Keane exhibits the epitomy of a true winner and his story is awe inspiring as he moves from an overlooked youngster to the center of the world stage! Don't expect a cozy story, but a gritty, honest and sometimes hilarious account of Roy's professional football career. A must buy!!

This book is off the charts. One of the very few books where the author is being completely honest. But with the person in question being Roy Keane, it dosent come as a big surprise. I loved this book. Keano is my second most favorite united leagend after Giggsy. This book gives a truthful look at his world without any blinkers and without being politically correct as many other books end up being. Keano rocks !

4.0 out of 5 stars A Decent Read, July 19, 2009

This review is from: Keane: The Autobiography (Mass Market Paperback)
I found this book interesting but not overly so. It covers a period of time I was following Manchester United quite intensely so reading his recollections of that time was quite enjoyable.

I did not find the writing style or presentation overly compelling yet it was still a pretty decent read. I'd rate it more of a 3.5 stars because it really didn't keep my interest and that extra interview of his at the end of the book was 10 long pages of reading I could have done with out.

I recommend the book to all United fans as a good read. To non-United fans, this may rate 3 stars or less.
