Unique UFO story on DVD,
This review is from: Kecksburg - The Untold Story (DVD)
Though the content seems a little "dry" at times, and perhaps isn't as flashy as some of the other UFO videos out there, it does capture a story not often told.
A must-have for the avid UFO buff or someone wanting more information about the events at Kecksburg. More a documentry than anything else, but will give the viewer insight into past alleged crashes of UFO's, this story is up there with Roswell, but often missed.

Greatly overshadowed by the UFO crash near Roswell, New Mexico, in July 1947, the Kecksburg Incident nonetheless holds great potential significance of its own. The evidence is quite clear that something crashed in the woods near Kecksburg, Pennsylvania in December 1965 - quite possibly (based on witness testimony) an extraterrestrial craft or probe of some sort. Pittsburgh native Stan Cooper has devoted a significant amount of his career as a UFO investigator to this incident, and this documentary, Kecksburg - The Untold Story, summarizes his findings as of 1998. It's an important documentary (it was named Best Historical UFO Documentary by the International UFO Congress Film Festival) featuring the testimony of twenty-one witnesses, several of them telling their story for the first time. To his credit, Gordon gives more than lip service to alternate explanations of the event, from the theory that the object was a Soviet space vehicle or probe of some kind to the government's rather ridiculous "meteor" explanation.
Unfortunately, this isn't a very polished production. Stan Gordon may be a good UFO investigator, but he has almost no charisma to speak of (nor do many of the witnesses, who are - after all - everyday men and women from rural Pennsylvania). Clearly not at home in front of the camera, Gordon delivers his narration a little too quickly and clinically. It doesn't help that he is shot facing away from the camera during several of his interspersed comments on witness testimony. The interviews themselves could do with some editing to eliminate tangential rambles, but it is pretty obvious that the documentary is a low-budget production. The whole thing just has a really odd feel to it, particularly when you throw in the background music, which sounds for all the world like the creepy organ background music played at funeral homes. I would only recommend this documentary to those with an established interest in the Kecksburg Incident. For one thing, I think you can find a much better summary of the Kecksburg story in a number of other videos about the subject - and I should point out that the mysterious object in this case differs significantly from those featured in other possible UFO crash/retrieval stories. Additionally, the production design and presentation style of this documentary could easily induce boredom in those lacking a vested interest in the subject. That being said, we owe Stan Gordon a great deal of gratitude for securing the eyewitness testimony of so many aging witnesses.

The Kecksburg UFO is well documented here with many unedited interviews. Like Roswell, the US government did a lousy job of covering up the event, but a good job of intimidating locals. The UFO was the size of a VW beetle.
