I ordered the black velvet version of these shoes. I figured that Keds has been making sneakers forever and so this would be a well-designed classic shoe. But unfortunately I was very wrong.

First of all, I noticed that the shoe didn't come with shoelaces. At first I thought that this was a mistake, but then I realized that in the photos on Amazon it is shown without shoelaces. Then I noticed that there is elastic under the tongue of the shoe, so I think it is meant to be worn without shoelaces. Shoes without laces are not my style, so I wish the product description had made that clearer to me before I bought this.

Next, when I tried wearing it, the sides dug into my ankles painfully. I thought I was going to have to send these back, but luckily this problem went away after one wearing -- maybe they needed breaking in.

Finally, the reason why I gave it one star, is that the shoe is VERY HOT and completely not ventilated. So my feet SWEAT LIKE CRAZY every time I wear these. It is very uncomfortable. Every time I wear them, I swear that I'll never wear them again. But then I forget and give them another try and they are awful all over again.

So I totally do NOT recommend the black velvet shoes to anybody. Your feet will sweat and make you miserable.

Did not receive the items by the time needed, sent them back and STILL waiting for a refund.
