5.0 out of 5 stars great booster if you install it correctly
I was hesitant to buy this booster seat for my 18 month old son because of some of the negative reviews. And I'm not one to read instructions, so probably like most everyone else, I stuck the seat on a chair and started clipping the belts around the chair thinking "how complicated can this be?" Well, for some reason the belts come looped through the chair the WRONG way...

2.0 out of 5 stars Call company for replacement straps, the seat works much better now
I liked the modern design of this booster, but thought the strap design was very poor. Who thought it would be a good idea for the strap that connects the booster to the seat be attached to the straps that keep the kid in the seat? And the straps didn't even fit our chair, didn't tighten enough. My 3 yo son would move so the booster would raise off the chair and sometimes...

5.0 out of 5 stars great booster if you install it correctly, October 23, 2010

I was hesitant to buy this booster seat for my 18 month old son because of some of the negative reviews. And I'm not one to read instructions, so probably like most everyone else, I stuck the seat on a chair and started clipping the belts around the chair thinking "how complicated can this be?" Well, for some reason the belts come looped through the chair the WRONG way. You have to take them off and thread them in the RIGHT way. If you look at the pictures in the instructions it clearly shows the belt coming up from underneath and over the sides of the chair. I believe a reviewer commented on poor design to have the child sit on top of a strap. If they are sitting on the strap, then you did not install it correctly and the bottom strap will definitely be way loose, as this isn't how it is intended to go. Once I took a minute to look at the pictures I realized how it is supposed to go and was able to get it attached very securely. I will say, some of the buckles were a bit challenging to tighten, but once it's on, you're good. Unless you plan to take the seat on and off frequently it's not an issue.

I am very pleased with my purchase. I think this seat will be very easy to clean and it blends in so well with our brown furniture. It is so soft and cushy too. My son was thrilled to sit in his big boy chair for the first time!

I liked the modern design of this booster, but thought the strap design was very poor. Who thought it would be a good idea for the strap that connects the booster to the seat be attached to the straps that keep the kid in the seat? And the straps didn't even fit our chair, didn't tighten enough. My 3 yo son would move so the booster would raise off the chair and sometimes almost topple him and the chair out.

I called the company, as I unfortunately waited too long to return the product to Amazon, and they offered to send new straps. Basically there's the original strap, plus another one that straps the booster to the back of the seat as well. Now he sits better and the seat is much safer. It's still annoying when the straps that keep him in place fall through the holes and I have to dig for it though.

So all in all, the booster is ok now - he sits still and the seat belts keep him from getting out of this seat, but really there should have been a better original design for the straps.

4.0 out of 5 stars great, January 28, 2011
I have the prince lion heart boosterpod (PLH) and the keekaroo cafe (kc). The PLH is more stable with two straps- back of chair and bottom and a flat bottom to sit down on the chair. The PLH straps come out of narrow holes in the seat which makes food harder to get in there, but harder to get out too. The 'look' of the keekaroo is more modern and slick, the colors of the lionheart are a little overwhelming, IMO. They both seem comfortable to the kids- 14 mo and 3.5 years. The PLH seat is a little roomier. I bought the kc first, like it alot, and would have bought two more for my twins, but the price went up in the two years since I bought my first one. it's pretty pricy now, although it looks better than the plh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Install is tricky but after that it's GREAT!, July 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I took a chance on this seat after reading all the complaints about the straps. I will agree the straps are tricky... but they should be so they will stay securely tethered. Once it is installed properly, it looks and fits great!

Pros:
Attractive
Cushy/Comfy
Wide enough to accommodate as child grows
Low profile so it can stay on chair and be pushed in/hidden away
Removable Straps for easy cleaning
Variety of color choices

Cons:
High Price Tag (But worth it because it doesn't look like a tacky piece of baby gear!)
Straps are difficult to adjust.

Allow me to tell you how I dealt with the strap problem:
First of all, all three of the strap systems (the back strap, the seat strap and the child belt) move independently of each other. This is good because you can slide them from side to side to get a good placement of the buckle. Also, there is a shorter strap and a longer strap. The shorter goes behind the chair back and the longer goes under the seat. Finally, here's what I learned from my struggles... Wrap the straps around to find the estimated fit first. Don't buckle yet. Adjust the slider to that point and then buckle. This way you can hold the strap out straight without the awkwardness and tension of it being buckled. You can do any final adjustments afterward...and like I said... the straps slide so if the buckles/adjusters end up in weird places after the straps are tightened(which happened on our particular chair)you can slide them to a better position.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. It is cute, classy, comfy and cleanable... just what a mom wants, right!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great seat, December 7, 2011

My daughter and I love this seat. I love that is safely attaches to the chair and does not move. Even when she grabs a side to hoist herself into it. She loves that it is soft to sit on. It is very easy to clean.

1.0 out of 5 stars Keekaroo cafe booster, November 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This booster seat is the worst. I bought it for my 2 year old granddaughter. It doesn't fit securely on the chair and she sits and rocks the chair and has even tipped the chair over. She is constantly getting up and down from the chair. It is a terrible design!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best feeding booster seat EVAH!!!, August 19, 2011

This review is from: Keekaroo Cafe Booster - Cherry (Baby Product)
We purchased this after 3 other booster seats were either too difficult to keep clean, too smelly (chemical off-gassing), or uncomfortable for my now 4 yr old to sit in. My daughter loves this seat, especially the fact that she has room to tuck one leg under (the front of the seat). Will be buying a second for my other daughter. Sadly it is a tad expensive but considering it's make from non-toxic, earth friendly materials and super comfy for my little ones, it is worth every penny!

1.0 out of 5 stars Cute seat but terrible straps, October 30, 2009
A Kid's Review
I really liked the modern design of the seat, and my 3 yo son had wrecked his Cooshee Booster seat, plus I was thrilled this had seat belts. However, the seatbelt that straps the child in is connected to the strap for the chair, and you have to adjust for the width of your child to make it fit on the chair appropriately, and the seat doesn't even fit on my standard dining room chair. So when my son sits on the chair, he can lean forward and lift the booster seat up and has even tipped the chair over. Very dangerous. I tried using the seat without the straps, but it moves around too much, it's really not designed to be used without the seat belt. Overall, I am very frustrated by this booster and kicking myself that i didn't return this to Amazon already. I have a call out to the company to see if they can help me out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, March 13, 2009

We have a 2 year old little boy, and he really wanted to sit at the table with us! I looked at all the boosters, read all the reviews, and decided on this one. I found it was very light, easy to install, and easy to clean. I feel very safe with our son sitting in this booster because it attatches to the chair, and has a safety belt for him. We really love having him at the table with us, and he really loves his big boy booster!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, January 9, 2009
This review is from: Keekaroo Cafe Booster - Cherry (Baby Product)
We love this booster seat! We bought it because our 8 mo old needed the highchair and our 2 1/2 year old won't sit to eat a meal without being confined. Our 2 1/2 year old can climb up into it, but needs help getting situated in it and strapped in correctly. We've even traveled with it. Very easy to put together and SUPER easy to clean. I just run it under the faucet when it is really dirty. It was much lighter than we expected, appears to be very heavy and solid but is pretty light. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.
