Product Description

Keeley Electronics' Fuzz Head gets it right. If you've been through a succession of guitar overdrive pedals, you know how personal distortion can be. One pedal pro guitar slingers seem to agree on is the Fuzz Head. Pedal guru Robert Keeley uses only the finest components - such as a genuine NPN Germanium Transistor - but the sound is where the rubber hits the road. The dirt served up by the Fuzz Head is incredibly satisfying, and it's responsive to your pick attack and volume pot. You'll love the Keeley Electronics' Fuzz Head.

Sturdy construction, nice looking metallic/clear coat finish. The Ge setting gives a more vintage sound while the Si setting gives a more modern sounding fuzz. The difference between them is not as stark as I expected. Both settings sound like a mellow fuzz with an edge of overdrive to it. It is not for someone looking for a thick fuzz. Its also not that great for low volume/bedroom level amp settings, it doesn't shine. I found it sounded best with an amp dialed up to the point just before it breaks up; you switch it on, and push the gain over the edge.

i bought the fuzz head purely for enlightenment... was going to study it and work at making something similar. who needs to? this thing is bad ass! robert is the master. this thing hits the fuzz world with vengence and much much more. roll off the volume and it cleans up beautifully. super simple layout makes it real easy to work with. just as the manual says... set it higher than you would really expect to use it and let your guitar volume do the rest. my diode switch is very subtle... almost to the point that i'm not sure it's doing anything, but the way it sounds is superb. i've been meaning to place a call to keeley to ask about that, just haven't done it yet... not too pressing as it rocks!
