Featherweight, July 20, 2009
This review is from: Keen Sayulita Lace
The lightest pair of Keen I have, the leather material is very soft and supple. I feel I should be sleeping on that material rather than walking in it.
Comfort: The shoe is featherlight and very comfortable, you almost feel like you are wearing nothing. However, the footbed is very strange compared to other Keens. It's flat, rather than slanted towards the front, i.e. it doesn't really have a heel so you are standing completely flatfooted. It takes a little getting used to, but that's what Keen means when it is deconstructed. And apart from that, it makes me feel about 1/2 inch shorter! I haven't tried walking long distance with this shoe but light shoes also mean that you carry less weight around and so it'd wouldn't be as tiring.
Looks: Looks was what made me buy this in the first place, it just looks so neat and casual, and cute! But it's hard to find an outfit to match it with. So think about what you can wear with this shoe before you buy it, unless you don't care!
Summary: A different type of Keen. I recommend this for the comfort, but think about how and where you'll wear it.
