They are plenty warm and keep your feet dry as a desert.

He's had other good quality, very well insulated boots but these are much better.

The boots run a little wide so wool socks are great in them also, but not need.

I love Keen shoes and I needed a pair of boots to wear in the snow so I got this one. It's waterproof, it's breathable and the insulation is supposed to have something to decrease foot odor. The sole is supposed to harden when it gets colder, but I suppose everything does. There's extra insulation in the foot bed. That's all the advertised stuff.

Personally, I found it very comfortable and very warm. The biggest problem I've had in the past with other boots was that the boot would either be too cold or too bulky and awkward, but this pair is both comfy and easy to walk in. I've spent hours in the snow and the cold did not get through at all. Foot odor is usually not a problem for me in cold weather and it isn't here either. I highly recommend it.

One year update: So we have snow again and I dug my Summits out.
They are as warm as ever. I feel no cold whatsoever in my feet even when I've stood outside for an hour and they are really comfortable. I'll repeat myself and say that the two problems I've always found with my old/other snow boots is that they either are not warm enough or are uncomfortable. These are both warm and comfortable. They are really worth the money.

I work as a land surveyor so I was looking for winter boots that will keep me warm for a whole day. I tried those boots in every situation (snowshoeing, powder, slush...) and they passed the test especialy keeping my toes warm. Keen dry works even better then I thought!

These are the best boots I have ever had. My usual complaint is that boots are stiff. I wear them for months and they're still stiff. These are amazingly comfortable right out of the box. Construction is superbly engineered, and I expect they will last for years.

Bought these for my 18 yr old son. Says they are the most comfy, warm boots ever! He loves, loves, loves them! Wears them every day. Able to test out in many conditions in short time he's had them (about a month) Warmth and waterproofness in extended time in bitter cold and deep snow; then ice storm - sure footed when it was almost impossible to stay standing up; then a thaw - tons of slush (some mud too) then more snow etc. These Keen Summit County's stood excellently in every test. Cold or wet never had a chance. They feel like toasters on your feet, yet your feet never get sweaty or too hot even when it's warmer, you're active or indoors. He's had other good quality, very well insulated boots but these are much better. Their usability is also much more than expected as they are so comfortable can wear for any activity, hiking, camping, work, school etc. and everyday footwear - not just an excellent "bad weather" boot. This is our first Keen purchase; we did not know what we were missing!

My only complaint is: They do not sell these in women's sizes. (a further cautionary fyi on these boots in general also follows) Needing a good pr of winter boots myself, and after being so impressed with these, I searched. I found that these go down to men's 7. That would normally still be too big for me as I wear a woman's 7 but everyone says to size up in these. (Went up 1/2 size w/my son's but maybe didn't need to in his case. Measures just barely 11.5, got 12's in these. Says they're fine - can wear various socks and since the laces go almost to the toe they're very adjustable) These being such great boots, I took the chance and ordered the men's 7 (avail from another company) for myself.

These boots are a wonderful match for me, they fit wonderfully, they keep my feet warm outside, and they don't look that bad. When you first get them you may have difficulty getting the lacing for the uppers to be the right tightness but after a few times you will know what level of tightness works best for the way you move. They are plenty warm and keep your feet dry as a desert.

Good boot , no complaints here , keeps your feet nice and warm and dry, it is true they do run 1/2 size too small, I wear 11 and ordered these in 11.5 they fit no problem. they have plenty room for toes and if you have a little wider foot too.
they are made for temprature under 40F , if you wear them above 40F your feet will sweat, alot. but better warm and sweaty then wet and cold right? overall good boots.

Had been wearing the same pair of Sorrels for 15 years and they served me well. One of them got ruined so I had to buy some new boots. Decided to try something a little less bulky. Couldn't find a pair of insulated hunting boots that were comfortable so I decided to try these because having wide toes I like my Keen hiking boots. Got em cheap on an end of season clearance last winter. So far they are holding up well. Not as warm as full on PAC boots, but easier to get around in. The mornings have been -10F this week and paired up with thick socks they've kept my feet toasty as long as I'm active. When stationary, my feet get cold. The only moisture I've noticed is sweat. I wouldn't go wading in them, but they seem to deal with snow and slush puddles just fine. The tongue isn't attached all the way to the top so I do wear gaiters in deep snow.

I normally wear a 9.5-10. I bought a 10 and have plenty of room for thick socks. Some keen footwear runs small. These seem on the money. Comfort wise, they are pretty good. I can wear them all day long. Occasionally one of the tongues will get out of place and rub my shin so I'll have to do a little adjusting. Nothing major. As for traction, they are decent. I've had better and I've had worse.

Durability..... I have a love hate relationship with Keen hiking boots. I've had some that wear out fast and others that hold up really really well. Just depends on the model. Burned through a pair of Targhees in 3 months, but I have 4 brand new pairs of Keen Siskiyou in the top of my closet because my first pair lasted forever and I like them enough to stock up. These Summit County 2's are doing fine so far, but the verdict is still out. I don't expect them to last like old school Sorrels. Heck even Sorrel doesn't make em like they used to.
