This is an excellent and comfortable boot. I have a ranch and have worked these boots hard from digging post holes, tillering, cement work, etc... I also have with horses and the hard toe is a plus. My dog got a hold of these boots and inspite of chewing them up the construction remains stable and I have been able to wear them for a year with no trouble.

Most important is that I have bilateral chronic plantar fasciitis. I have to wear inserts with all my shoes except for these boots. I can wear these all day and have no foot pain at the end of the day.

I will begin by saying that these DO NOT fit like traditional work boots. They are rugged hiking boots to the core, I was first put off by the fit only because I was a 4 year Red Wings boot wearer. Anther note, DO NOT purchase them from Amazon, you will not save enough money in the process, even if you are a Prime member, to regret the boots and not have the ability to return them after wearing them for a few days. Purchasing from the Keen site directly gives you what looks to be a 90 day no questions asked return policy and the price is within 10ish dollars of Amazon. Also, have your foot sized, they seem run to the exact size of your foot. Now for brevity I will list pros and cons

Pros: Awesome steel toe (left and right specific), tough rubber toe cap (should take a long while to wear through), *laces stay put! (also a con, more later), Light weight (my Red Wings were 2.5 lbs each, these are half that), Aggressive tread (grabs very well where my other boots would have slipped) Very water proof (was on a job that was a mud hole for weeks) Comfortable (my back would tell me otherwise very quickly) Fit well/feel good right out of the box

Cons: Compared to traditional work boots, walking in them takes a day or so to get use to them. *They have a set of what I will call 'locking lace hooks' they will not let up if you tighten the laces too tight, I did tighten them much too tight (from how I tied my previous Red Wings) and my feet suffered much from that, on that note, tying them to a comfortable tension yielded a very good fit. The water proof lining tends toward not breathing well, could also tend toward getting hot on really hot days. Not resole-able (still a hiking style boot) The insole could be better but they haven't driven me to get new ones yet.

I bought a pair of these in May of 2011 an initially they were great, very comfortable and looked great too. I never really put them through much though and thought they'd last for years. I'd usually wear them about 3 days a week. I basically wore them to work which involved mostly driving in them all day.
After six months the rubber on the toe began to separate. A few weeks later one of the lace hooks ripped out. By that point they were basically garbage. I tried to exchange them under the warranty Keen offers & was denied.

I bought 1/2 size larger than normal so I could use a pair of RedWing inserts I purchased awhile ago but they were too tight in the other work boots. I have a pair of Keen water sandals that I use for kayaking and like to closed area around my toes. These Keen steel toe work boots have ample space around my toes and it does not feel confining. Very comfortable.

This boot is dangerous if you work in the oilfield or around wet surfaces. I got better traction walking on actual ice in other boots than walking on a slick surface in these boots.

Otherwise they are great fitting boots, comfortable, lightweight, stylish. I am happy to keep them for hiking boots, but I was not in the market for expensive hiking boots in the first place. These boots were meant for work, but with the slickest soles I have ever owned, they are far too dangerous to wear at work.

I purchased these from a local store on a co-workers praises. I have had them for five weeks now.
I wear them for about ten hours a day, five to six days a week. Although they are very comfortable with the wider steel toe they are not holding up as I would have liked. So far the sole is starting to separate on the sides and the tread is already smoothing out.
This past weekend I wore them in the rain and noticed that they are leaking threw a hole in the heel and sucking water in every time I step down.
As they carry a six month manufacturers defect warranty I will be returning them next weekend. Hopefully this was just a bad pair and not a sign of the quality of all the companies product.

My husband works in the elevator industry, and this is his second pair of Keen boots. He can wear them all day, and his feet do not get sore from these boots. They are warm, water tight and roomy enough not to cramp his feet.

The last pair only lasted a year, but I believe he used them hard. Hopefully, this pair will last longer than a year, although for such a good price, I would not be upset if this was an annual purchase.
