Who would have thought I would buy a pair of shoes off internet and be so pleased with my purchase!? Here's my testimony: I LOVE these shoes: KEEN Sienna Mary Jane Shoe, size 6, Color Rust. Finally, I have orange shoes to go with all my clothes in varying tones, shades, tints of orange!
The most surprising thing about these shoes is how utterly comfortable they are. Usually, I am always aware of my shoes because of the leaden pain they usually end up causing my knee(s), left foot and ankle, and leg(s). I have this weird problem, restless leg syndrome. If my shoes hurt my legs, the result may be a bad episode of uncontrollable kicking legs. (I take very effective medication, but leg aggravation still has power to trigger those fits of kicking. Pray you never have it!)
This KEEN shoe is so lightweight that I am barely aware I have on shoes (except, I confess, my right foot, like most people, is longer than the left, and bumps against the end of the shoe just a bit, enough to know that it is happening, but not painful at all).
That rubber sole absorbs any pounding that comes from walking. The strap holds the shoe in place to prevent slipping up and down against the back of the ankle, that sometimes occurs on the left foot (the shorter foot, remember?). The real clincher is the shape of sole inside the shoe that goes against the foot. There is a slightly elevated instep that seems to massage that part of the foot as one walks. A great addition to the shoe, but a warning to those who who have flat insteps. This shoe would greatly trouble your foot.
Comfort, for me, is great. Pain prevention is better. But I must admit that what I like best about these shoes is their adorable cuteness! I love the Mary Jane look. It has become my signature. The material is nubuck, which means it looks like suede. I like the combination of "suede" and rubber and the strap. I like to look down when I wear these shoes just for sheer enjoyment! Orange makes me happy.
These shoes are the best! In fact, when spring comes, I plan to purchase the beige ones. I LOVE these shoes! (Yes, I am gushing!)
