I have always loved pistachios, but living two or three thousand miles from the nearest pistachio tree, I had never really tasted fresh pistachios. But I didn't realize that until I received my order of Keenan Farms pistachios from Amazon. I was immediately struck by how green and fresh looking the nuts were. When I got the first of three two-pound bags open and tasted them, I was hooked! Each kernel was so plump, so large, so crunchy and fresh and beautifully green I had to remind myself that I was holding a two pound bag and I couldn't eat the whole thing. I will reorder this item often, and recommend that you order them too.

Lightly salted and delicious. I like them alot. Very good quality product and packaging. Highly recommended. I will definitely be ordering more in the near future. Also fun to eat!

Excellent taste and quality with just enough powdered salt.
They are also grown and processed in California and not some
Third-World country that is still using dangerous chemicals
for insect control along with far better cleanliness in the USA.
Highly Recommended. Only problem is that I can't stop eating
them once I start because they are wonderful.
My dog also LOVES them once I remove the salt.

What makes for a good pistachio is size, freshness and proper roasting time. If the pistachios and small and over-roasted I won't eat them. Keenan pistachios are generally medium to small in size, and overall quality tends to vary from one bag to the next, lacking consistency. Large pistachios are hard to come by in a bag of Keenan Farms. Setton Farms Pistachios are much better (bigger and fresher tasting on average), but they aren't sold by or through Amazon... Unfortunately. But if you're trying to decide, don't waste your time with that "Wonderful" crap, Keenan Farms Pistachios are much better.

Delicious! No red dye on shell to stain hands. Superb flavor. Most shells can be easily cracked fully open with bare hands. Best Pistachios I've ever eaten!

These pistachios are good, but I found a fair number of them unopened or only partially open. Walgreen's has pistachios that are just as good and not nearly so many unopened ones.

Half of the nuts in the bag were unopened and were thrown away. I didn't want to rip my fingernails trying to ooen them.

Good pistachios, but...about 20% of the bag is empty shells. I'll need to reevaluate before I order this brand again.

I purchased the 3-bag pack for the holidays. I'm not a pistachio nut aficiando but these are awful. Simply put, I enjoy a good fresh pistachio and Keenan Farms was a bad pick. The first bag I opened was stale. If they weren't salted, I put them out for the squirrels.

I've eaten myself sick on these and there's still a couple pounds to go. I bought the 3-pack 32 ounce bags. I love pistachios and occasionally I'm willing to pay the price for them. This Keenan Farms brand is tops. My first bag I made a point to count the unopened nuts. 7 unopened out of 2 pounds of nuts. The second bag? 2 nuts I couldn't open with my fingernails. Most are very easy to open; my neice just turned 3 and she was able to open most of them on her own. (She was VERY closely supervised! Do not worry!) The quality of the nuts were very good, though they are not the largest size (they are not advertise as such). The salt content was perfect for my taste. I can sit and make a pile of shells quickly and easily. Man, I want another three pack! Maybe for Easter...
