5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent read
Reading Sean's account of his "trek" through life is really amazing! His struggle with cancer, twice, and then heading towards climbing the highest peak in the world speak to his vision. I was captured by his account of his parent's ability to deal with his cancer and as a parent, I cannot imagine the strength it took to make it through the times described. Sean is...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the Best on the Shelf
Inspiring story...yes. Well written book...not so much.
While I was moved and inspired by the author's accomplishments, I couldn't get past what seemed like a junior high school autobiography.
The writing is weak and the tone simplistic. The story suffers for lack of strong literary skills.

Absolutely the best, heart felt, inspiring story I have read in years! Sean truly IS a survivor and success. His experiences with cancer, so young and 2x's, can't be anything but amazing and encouraging to others...and THEN, dedicating his life helping other cancer patients through his Cancer Climber Foundation. The first cancer survivor to summit Everest and only one more climb to reach the "Seven Summits". The climbing dialog is clearly written letting one vicariously climb, too. I know from this great read, Sean will succeed in every dream he has. Keep Climbing, Sean.

Sean Swarner's inspiring tale of conquering cancer and Mt. Everest should be read by anyone who has ever been affected by the horrible disease. Swarner is the real deal--a genuine guy who wants to help other people. Read this book and share it with those who mean the most to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring account of one man's amazing journey..., February 27, 2007
This review is from: Keep Climbing: How I Beat Cancer and Reached the Top of the World (Hardcover)
I read this book in one day...it's so inspirational, if you've ever known someone with cancer this book will grab at your heart. Swarner uses simple language and tongue in cheek humor to give something so huge a light feel. Sean Swarner is a truly remarkable human being, dedicating his whole life to helping others...I am certainly going to donate to CancerClimber Assoc. to help others like Sean achieve their dreams and tackle their own Everests.

5.0 out of 5 stars PREPARE TO BE INSPIRED, February 14, 2007
This review is from: Keep Climbing: How I Beat Cancer and Reached the Top of the World (Hardcover)
Sean's story is one of persistence and determination. He gives hope to those who have little, he inspires others by not only his words, but his actions as well. He truly proves that if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything. This is the perfect book for everyone b/c we all have our own "everests" to climb and this just proves that anything is possible. Bravo Sean, keep up the great work and most importantly, KEEP CLIMBING!

Sean Swarner's story is so touching. The power to survive in this young man is remarkable. We all have our own moutains to climb and his story reminds us that all things are possible as long as you keep climbing. A must read book.

Sean's story is impressive and inspiring. Although the prose is basic, it is his story that is compelling. You need not be a cancer survivor to be moved by this book - his journey is well worth the investment of your time and worthy of your attention.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story, great guy!!!!, September 27, 2009
A Kid's Review
This book was awesome!!! It was so inspiring in fact that my dad, who works for ESPN did a story on this guy. I was eiger to know what kind of guy he was and found that was a nice personable fellow. Those of you who say he is egoistic couldn't be more wrong. Also, those of you who say he is not really a climber, he has climbed the Seven Peaks plus he is about to trek Antarctica. This was an awesome book wiht great morale values and it makes you look at all the great things you ahve in life.
