Temporary and eternal... well, mostly eternal,
By Rahsaka "Bern" (LRSY, F) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Keep (Audio CD)
Although looking at the names of the songs you could think this is a compilation, it is not. Happy performs concerts in livingrooms of particulars, and this album tries to render that kind of atmosphere. As a result, it has less bvs and when it does, it is from another singer who is good at it.
Also, it is less electronic than the albums, emphasizing on Happy's gorgeous voice and lyrics. But it gives a new perspective on those songs. And there is a beautiful meddley mixing songs of Yes and Kate Bush that is worth listening to. I still don't know why there is not much recognition for this artist. I believe this may be because she chose to be herself instead of fitting in commercial standards. But this particular album is almost like a spiritual experience. It is you with the artist, both alone together in the performance. And if you get what is inside her words and chant, then you are just uplifted and transported to some other place where rating something is meaningless. I wished the last album came out soon... But I prefer it to be right on its time.

Something to come back to,
This review is from: The Keep (Audio CD)
I listen to a wide variety of music from Enya to Rise Against to Beethoven to Eminem. However, my mind changes about most them as much as does my taste for different genres but I am amazed at how much I love not just this album, but Happy Rhodes as well. Her music is beyond beautiful and compelling. In my personal opinion this is her best work. A truly amazing collection of songs.

The must-have album,
This review is from: The Keep (Audio CD)
If I'm ever asked which one album I'd take with me to a desert island -- this would have to be it.
