This book is a great "Why try?" and "How to succeed" primer. You need not explore much more to be motivated, educated, and supported in succeeding going to a "Whole-foods, plant-based diet, centered on starches for enough energy, with green and yellow vegetables, and some fruit." Avoid/minimize all animal products and avoid/minimize processed oils from plants.

F I V E ***** S T A R S for this new book!
Many thanks for having the courage to speak up against a status quo that is intent on keeping things the way they are (to the detriment of all of us!)
Buy this book for your doctor - but before he freaks out, please let him know that for-credit nutritional education is available for medical professionals thru the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and others listed in the back of this book.
It's time for a radical paradigm shift in medicine (kind of like giving up leeches!).
It's a time whose time has come.
Love learning about their system which will meet you wherever you are to get you moving in the right direction to make this a LIVABLE transition toward better health - or if you prefer - a radical and instantanious move with quick, palpable results - or somewhere in between. It's up to you but at least you will finally know and understand what you're doing and why.
Drs. Polde and Leiderman begin with an intimate glimpse into their personal lives, their deepest motivations to become doctors and the many challenges they met up with along the way (probably the same challenges that confronted your own doctor). They chose not to gloss over or ignore the roadblocks that threatened to interfer with their dreams to be HEALERS who could step in and do their work, so that their patients could get well, get back to business and move on with their lives. (NOT tied to lifelong 'treatment' for a disease they didn't need to get in the first place!)
If it seems slow-paced at any point, hang in there.Read more ›
