Invaluable Tool for Shadetree Mechanics, November 19, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Keep Your Datsun/Nissan Alive: Maintenance & Repair 1968-1986 - 510, 610, 710, 521, 620, 720 Cars & Trucks (Paperback)
It's too bad this book is out of print. It was written after the style of John Muir's classic "How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive", and follows the same plain-language explanation of mechanicals and proceedures as Muir's book, with helpful advice along the way like "If you're getting angry at your car, stop for a while." Sound words! Instead of photographs to accompany the text, there are extremely clear artist's illustrations which, in my opinion, surpass most photos that appear in manuals of this type. A very worthwhile book to have for any owner of an old Datsun/Nissan, and one which did in fact keep my '72 1600 Pickup alive for many years. These are still in stock at some Nissan dealership parts counters.

Very beautifully illustrated book! Husband LOVES it! A drop light for the Shade tree mechanic!
Informative, helpful, easy to read and understand because it's written as if a friend is under the hood with you.

It's hard to find good info on the old Datsuns. I am restoring an old 1974 pickup and this books has been invaluable.
