Here it is--another great set of numbers from Mr. Boogie Woogie Piano himself, Mitch Woods. It's hard to single out particular songs when the CD just swings from start to finish--I was sorry when it was over.Mitch also has a few special guests on this one--and I do mean special ! John Lee Hooker--James Cotton--Johnnie Johnson--Earl King--Lee Allen--this disc is bursting with talent. A couple of years ago, I saw Mitch and his band at the Ottawa Bluesfest, and was knocked out with his music and showmanship--these guys are fun ! I immediatly went out and bought all the Woods CDs I could find. I didn't see "Keeper of the Flame" though, so I'm pleased to add it to the collection. So--what are you waiting for ? Order it ! Oh yes--if Mitch comes your way to play a gig, don't miss it. Rock on, Mr. Woods !

From the first notes off track 1, you know you are in for a treat. Mitch found all the old timers, great jazz and historic blues men and recorded them in such a comfortable place, that they just ROCK! Everyone is so relaxed you can just tell they are loving it. I'm so glad Mitch 'kept the flame burning'! If you have never heard Mitch Woods before, the man is a phenom! His 'Rocket 88's' are incredible.
