5.0 out of 5 stars serenity on cd
I find this to be wonderfully uplifting music to listen to. Solo flute and unusual accompaniment; the sounds of a crackling fire; a running stream; thunder; horses; and the gentle, happy sounds of birds laced throughout all is a welcome change of pace. Not for everyone, especially those more accustomed to the jangly music so common. But for those who dare to listen...

2.0 out of 5 stars For the very eclectic only
An unaccompanied solo player of a single pipe playing tunes, with a background of birds singing, a crackling fire, or other natural sounds. Some unaccompanied vocal solos. The pieces all seem the same and are quite alien and not pleasant to an untrained Western ear. Only for the die hard enthusiast.

5.0 out of 5 stars A realistic cd that sounds like Native American music, January 20, 1999

To anyone who appreciates great Native American music. Any person who wishes to hear realistic native american music will very much enjoy this cd. most other nat. amer. cd's have untrue instruments in them. For example, guitars in an indian chant does not seem to be right!! I've purchased many others to give them a fair chance, but none have stood up to this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars beautiful traditional creation, June 5, 2006
This review is from: Keepers of the Dream (Audio CD)
I love this album - it's like happy family and hospitality to guests both. To the reviewer who can't appreciate the task of recording a peoples'history, there isn't a written history amoung these magical and mystical storytellers. I wish i could say (i'm white, european ancestry)- read the history books. But these American history books don't have integrity, they aren't accurate, and they are not complete. Mr. Locke is my favorite flutist, i almost always immediately recognize his flute.

to capture the true beauty of the instrument and the man. I can feel the sun shining, the wind blowing and the buffalo roaming. A true native artist who doesn't compromise his sound.
