Edgar Wallace books! many free on kindle. all have been excellent stories or collection of stories as the Sanders and Bones adventures are. all jolly delightful and engaging. The bit about britian being suddenly interested in territory because of a discovery of gold in the area to justify the "humanitarian" intervention good reminder the present isn't as different from the past.
