Cool, Yes!,
By Sherman L. Dantzler "JazzeOne Production" (Grand Blanc, MI United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)

Cool, Yes! But also add energetic, versatile, smooth and mature. Nick starts this project with lots of energy on 'Can You Feel it' and demonstrates some more "Uptempo" on 'If You Ask Me'. He Sneaks a little versatility with his own vocal effort on 'Rainy Night in Georgia' (Brook Benton would be proud). His smoothness comes through on 'From Me to You', 'A Moment With You' and the title cut 'Keeping it Cool'. But the maturity is shown on his new version of 'High Flyin' from his (Just Come On in) 2004 project. Same song, but his growth as a guitarist is highly notice by the JazzeOne. I see shades of the mature sounds of Norman Brown and George Benson, yet you still hear the melodic sound that Nick has developed over the last few years (check out 'Always Thinkin of You'). I like Nick's groove, maturity and this entire CD; it is 'Cool, Yes!' ~the JazzeOne

Great Find...........I am a Total FAN!,

I had been hearing "Always Thinking Of YOU." But, I never got who it was. I purchased XM radio and on the smooth jazz channel, I heard the cut again and got the artist name. Purchased the CD based on that one cut. Every cut is great on this cd. I look forward to catching him live at some point and will continue to look for more from him in the future. He has his own style. But, not only do you hear hints of Benson and Brown..........I hear a little Doc Powell as well. I will be introducing friends to this great artist............Keep it coming.............

I found out about Nick Colionne when I heard "Just Come On In". That was an awesome album by one of the best smooth jazz guitarist out there. Well, this new album is no let down either. His Radio Hit "High Flyin" is also featured live on the cd. I hope to see this guy place if he makes it to my town. Nothing but pure smoothness! Check it out

This is a great CD. The musicianship is extraordinary!
I just saw Nick Colionne and his great band LIVE at the Close Up 2 Smooth Jazz Festival here in downtown Chicago! It was a great performance and the audience loves him. This guitar artist is a must have for smooth jazz fans especially those who want a departure from the saxophone. Keepin it Cool is one of many great titles by Nick. See Nick Colionne LIVE in downtown Chicago at the 2008, Close Up 2 Smmoth Jazz Festival.

This is the kind of CD that you don't skip over any tracks on. You can't help but to knod your head and tap your fingers to each beat and imagine being in a small intimate venue hearing the songs being played live. Most of the songs are kind of fast. Great driving CD. Favorite Tracks: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11 and you gotta love track 13 (also on his previous CD).

A "5 STAR" CD! All I can say is Hurry, Don't Wait to Get Nick Colionne's latest CD, each and every track on this CD is fabulous. If you are not already a NC fan, check him out. And, be sure to catch one of his live performances, they are not to be believed. You will be a fan for life.

One does indeed realise that acheiving a measure of 'success' in the music industry is indeed as much towards a measure of good fortune as it is talent; however, the more fundamental concern is that the individual or group of individuals have a measure of talent. Although one cannot dispute Mr. Colionne's talent sadly, it does not appear readily apparent on this particular CD, which is indeed unfortunate. As one would supect that with more experience Mr. Colionne's contribution towards the genre that is jazz generally and smooth jazz in particular will become noteworthy.
