5.0 out of 5 stars THE SECOND OF THE MONTANA MYSTIQUE WRITINGS, April 9, 2007

This review is from: Keeping Christmas (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
Just how old was Chance when Dixie hung out with him as a 12 year old?
He dated Rebecca Bonner and then took off.

Dixie had taken off [now at 29 years old] and daddy figures she is asking for a ransom - was she kidnapped? - for some pet project of hers. This was a stunt she had pulled when she was younger.

Beau has tracked her through her credit cards and knows she is heading to Montana and Chance Walker. Apparently she and daddy both have kept tracked of Chance.

Dixie's sister Rebecca married Oliver Lancaster because of his blue blood and his society connections after Chance left Texas. All Oliver wanted was money and power.

Carl Bonner was Beau's half brother, that their father did not recognize. So Beau inherited the rundown farm which eventually gave up the oil and made them both millionairs and then some.

Dixie's mother died 13 months after she was born, leaving a Pandora's box behind that caused endless trouble and a few deaths.

Mason Roberts lived just down the road and was like family during Beau's childhood. They both left Texas and eventually returned. Beau gave Mason a job as he was smart when it came to money.

All Dixie wanted to know was who was trying to kill her as the attacks came from men who worked for her father. Yet she knew that Chance would keep her safe. At first she thought this until she learned that her father hired Chance to find and send her home.

What a great mystery - it keeps you hopping to keep up with the twists and turns and leaves a few dead bodies. A distrustful Dixie and a determined Chance. He nevered married but had a daughter.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED --m definitely a keeper author.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Keeper, February 3, 2007
This review is from: Keeping Christmas (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
KEEPING CHRISTMAS is a wonderful woman-in-jeopardy/woman-on-the-run type story with great characterization and the kind of page-turning plot I've come to expect from Daniels. I read a lot of Intrigues and she's one of the best.
