Be aware: Same exact story as 'The Keepsake' by Gerritsen,
This review is from: Keeping the Dead (Paperback)
First I'd just like to say that I love all of Tess Gerritsen's work. I just can't get enough of her books. I really enjoyed this story as well. You won't be bored or tempted to put the book down, as she keeps you interested until the very end. However, I had already read 'The Keepsake'; and when I came across this book, 'Keeping the Dead' I thought I had overlooked a new book and was anxious to read it. However, I soon learned as I began reading the story that this was the same story as I had already read, but with a different title: 'The Keepsake'. Just be aware before you purchace the two mistakenly as I did.

A Gerritsen Classic,
This review is from: Keeping the Dead (Paperback)
I confess to being a massive fan of Tess Gerritsen's work, but i have to say that Tess has surpassed even her own usual high standards with this one. I was riveted to the storyline from start to finish. There are enough plot twists and red herrings within these pages to satisfy any thriller reader. I was almost breathless by the time I reached the final page. This was definitely a "can't put it down' page turner that held my attention on every page.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Keeping the Dead (Hardcover)
I'm an avid reader of Tess Gerritsen books, but have to say I've been duped. I realized the books published from Great Britain are the exact same books published in the USA. I bought 2 books that I've already read. "The Keepsake" is "Keeping The Dead", and "Ice Cold" is "The Killing Place". I am very disappointed that this is done but I guess it's "buyer beware". I thought I checked to make sure where my books came from when I ordered them, but I guess I wasn't careful enough. Watch out you Gerritsen readers out there.

This is the UK edition of THE KEEPSAKE. Not meant for sale in the U.S.,
By tess gerritsen "Tess" (Maine) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Keeping the Dead (Hardcover)
You will notice that it is for sale here only through secondary sellers. That is because KEEPING THE DEAD was published by Transworld UK, only for sale in the UK and its territories. The U.S. edition (THE KEEPSAKE) is published by Ballantine, a completely different publisher. These books were meant to be for sale only in their own territories, but because of online sales (which blur all geographic boundaries) customers may inadvertently purchase the same story twice.
Publishers cannot control online or secondary sales. They distribute only in their own territories. If you travel to a different country, you may encounter a different edition, just as when you travel to Germany, you will find the German edition. Please do not blame the publisher (or the author!) because we cannot control where the millions of books end up.

more gripping Gerritsen,
By Cloggie Downunder (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Keeping the Dead (Hardcover)
Keeping The Dead is the 7th in Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli/Isles series. Maura Isles is invited to be present for the CT scan on a mummy recently found in the basement of the Crispin museum. When the scan first shows a dental filling, and then a bullet lodged in the calf, a historical find becomes a murder investigation, and Jane Rizzoli takes the case. As more bodies, or parts of bodies, are uncovered, an association with archaeology becomes apparent. The target seems to be Josephine Pulcillo, an Egyptologist working at the Crispin. Frost thinks she's a victim, but Rizzoli has a gut feeling that Josephine is not all she seems, and this leads to tension between the partners. Gerritsen once again gives us a pacy plot with twists right up to the last chapter, plausible characters and credible dialogue. And a laugh-out-loud moment about hospital bureaucracy. Once again, we are treated to a wealth of interesting facts in easily-digestible morsels, this time about mummification, the process of making a shrunken head and preservation of bodies in bogs. Gerritsen explores lies and truth, how far a parent will go for a child, changing one's identity and spending a life on the run. Another gripping Gerritsen read.
