5.0 out of 5 stars Preaching to the converted
If you're here, you must have seen the movie and liked the music. So I'll keep it brief and reassure you that, yes, the music in the film was great -- and the cd is worth it. The Peter Salett tracks are definitely the highlight, but the whole album is terrific. Hurrah for Ed Norton!

3.0 out of 5 stars The Best Songs
The best songs on here are the two tunes by Peter Salett (and okay, the Elliott Smith song). I recommend that you go directly to the Peter Salett section and check out his cd "Heart of Mine" - yes named after the song in this movie. Then buy it. You won't be sorry.

As soundtracks go this is a thoughtful collection but the real highlight is Salett's Heart of Mine. Not surprising in some ways - his first CD (I think it's called Paintings of These Days) is superb and worth trying to find. Hope we will be hearing more of him.

The main reason that I bought this CD was for the song Heart of Mine by Peter Salett. It's my new favorite song! The rest of the soundtrack is amazing, too! I'm not too big on instumentals in general, but the instramentals on this CD are well worth listening to! I HIGHLY reccomend this CD!

3.0 out of 5 stars Thrown together, July 9, 2001
By A Customer

I loved the music in the film and was somewhat disappointed with the soundtrack. The best songs are thrown together at the beginning of the soundtrack and then followed by score music with two disco tunes wrapping up the cd. The score music could have been placed between songs, but perhaps that would have been too much effort for the cd-makers? The Santana song was not included. I had to remix the tunes on another recording for myself. I am glad to have the first four songs but think the soundtrack cd could have been organized more thoughtfully.

I loved the movie Keeping the Faith. I did not buy the soundtrack for it until after I saw Peter Sallet in concert. Then I realized that two of his songs were on the soundtrack. This CD is worth the buy just for Heart of Mine and The Way Things Used To Be.

I loved this movie..I've ordered the CD and I love the song "Heart of Mine". But I want to know what is the name of the song that Ed Norton is singing on stage towards the ending of the moving when he sees Ben and Jenna coming in. Please email me right away!!

Thanks and enjoy the CD!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great score!, December 16, 2000
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Keeping The Faith (2000 Film) (Audio CD)
Many people who bought this cd bought it for the vocals. I however bought it for the great score by Elmer Bernstein. I, being a collector of any Bernstein stuff I can get my hands on, keep up with the upcomming movies he scores for. Some of his more recent ones ("Introducing Dorathy Dandridge", "Deep End of the Ocean", and "Wild Wild West") have not been nearly as good as his score from the 50's-80s ("The Man with the Golden Arm", "To Kill a Mockingbird", and "Ghostbusters"). When I bought "Keeping the Faith", I was amazed at how Mr. Bernstein brought back the same old sound from "I Love You, Alice B. Toklas". The score "Keeping the Faith" is a mix between dramatic, calm music (Main Title*) and jumpy, comical music (The Three, All's Well). This cd is one of my favorites in my Elmer Bernstein collection. Please, listen to me...BUY THIS C-D. Thank you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome soundtrack, May 7, 2001
This review is from: Keeping The Faith (2000 Film) (Audio CD)
I loved the movie and decided to buy the soundtrack after I enjoyed the songs in the movie. Some especially great ones are Heart of Mine and The Way Things Used to Be. They should have put Ready to Take a Chance Again on the CD. That's my only strike against it =)
