Disillusioned
Following on the heels of Illusion, indie sensation and New York Times best-selling author J.S. Cooper brings us the second novel in the Swept Away series, a trilogy of dark and sexy romances about a woman marooned on an island with a man who may be her captor.

Book Description

Garrick Taylor and Bliss Edwards managed to find their happily-ever-after despite a rather . . . ahem . . . complicated start. By comparison, meeting the parents should be an absolute breeze, right?

But from the moment the pair lands in London, new snags just keep cropping up: a disapproving mother-in-law-to-be, more than one (mostly) minor mishap, and the realization that perhaps they aren't quite as ready for their future as they thought.

As it turns out, the only thing harder than finding love is keeping it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeping Her: Short and Sweet August 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Its a cute and lovely story. It continues Bliss and Garrick's love story in London where Bliss finally meets Garrick's parents and introduces her as his fiance. This novella is told from both Garrick and Bliss' point of views. Readers get to witness how strong their relationship is.They both clearly demonstrated that communication, trust, and love was all that they need and that they could handle any obstacles that stood in their way. Plenty of sweet moments between Garrick and Bliss. The ending leaves the readers with a happily ever after and that Garrick and Bliss were clearly made for each other.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST ENDING FOR THEIR STORY!!!!! August 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am sooooo relieved and HAPPY with the ending of their story, but I wished it could have included their wedding and honeymoon, if his parents would give it to them. The fun, witty, and love shown in this book is evident in all of Cora's books and I am VERY HAPPY about that fact!!!!! I can't wait for the next book. I just hope it doesn't take as long as this one did. GREAT JOB CORA!!!!!!! Love ya!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Addition! September 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I don't think I'll ever get enough of this circle of friends. Halfway through reading "Faking It" I realized that I didn't have Keeping Her! I was so excited I bought it immediately, even though I hadn't even finished with Book 2. Although this book is 1.5, it really can be read after book 2. I actually think it would be better off as 2.5, just for the mere fact that Garrick and Bliss get engaged during book 2, and this book takes place after their engagement. Honestly it seems like it probably takes place at the same time as book two, so it works out to read it before or after the second book. Either way, LOVE IT!

Garrick's family is freakin' insane, and I couldn't help but want to kick them in the shins. This book really shows the depths of Bliss' sweetness and the strength of her character. Even facing the circumstances that they face in this book, she wants nothing more than Garrick to be happy, even if it's not always in their best financial interest. I love that! In this day of billionaire love books, it's so great to read a book where the heroine and hero couldn't care less about their bank statements, but only about themselves.

Not only is this book fantastic, but really.. Read them all! This is by far one of my favourite contemporary NA series!

I gave this rating because when the story ended, I was completely thrown off guard. I still am a little confused.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great April 11, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
So, I've read the other books in the Loosing It series and I fell in love with Bliss and Garrick from the first encounter; however, I find that this novella fell short in wrapping up the series. The characters were still great, but I felt like after the novella ended there were still tons of questions as to who Garrick really is. I love Cora Carmack's books and I plan to read them all, one day, but I recommend that you start with the beginning of her Loosing It series and avoid the novellas,Keeping Her and Seeking Her (Bliss and Garrick's and Kelsey and Jackson's)

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the first two... September 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed Losing it and Faking it, but this book was lacking. It did continue the sweet story of Garrick & Bliss but just didn't grab me like the others. I kept waiting for it to be "hard to put down", but it just didn't happen. And the ending was just too abrupt for me. When it was over, I thought no way it stops here...looked down and my Kindle said 72%. But the author just used the remaining space in the book to recap the other books in the series (and to debut another book). I really enjoy Carmack's writing but this book wasn't my favorite

3.0 out of 5 stars I Hate When I'm Disappointed By Good Books November 24, 2013
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Verified Purchase
While I liked the book and I'm a fan of the author, I felt like this book wasn't really worth it. Like I said, I liked it, but it was so short. I know, it was supposed to be a novella, but it felt too short to even be classified as that. It seemed like the development of the story could have been helped if it had been fleshed out. I just expected more from it, I guess.

I dont like telling people how to feel about a book, and I don't want to bash an author. So I can only say how I feel about a book, and how I came up with how I review them. Read more
