Book Description

June 19, 2003
Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. Every little girl grew up hearing the stories of "happily ever after," but is that the world in which she exists today?

Living in this not-so-fairy-tale world, you are torn between everything you longed for and everything you live with. You wonder how your heart will survive, because what you have isn't even close to what you hoped for. Hang on! Real hope is found in the tension between the two-in an invisible kingdom. This place is where you discover the true heart of a princess-one full of dreams, wonder, delight, and joy. And you learn to keep it alive, even in the midst of this crazy, disappointed, hard-to-understand world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Positively PHENOMENAL!!!, January 31, 2005

This review is from: Keeping a Princess Heart: In a Not-So-Fairy-Tale World (Hardcover)
This book was absolutely AWESOME!! I was quite surprised to see that some of the other reviews said they didn't like it! I really have no clue what they were talking about - If they were 'bored' with the Princess theme, then they obviously did not grasp its significance! This book was absolutely incredible!!!! Too many women and girls, especially in our day and age, are bombarded with the idea that 'falling in love' is just a farce; it can't really happen; it's found only in fairy tales. Our modern world is full of stylish cynicism. This book illustrates that Jesus was the Author of romance, the ultimate Romance, of course, being between us and Him. But also, for those women who the Lord has a man chosen for her to marry, the Lord can write a beautiful love story for her if she is willing to follow Him. I work at a Christian bookstore and I've set all the copies of this book we've received aside, and I've given them all away to people! I can't recommend this book highly enough! I even told my brother to read it; I told him it would help him understand how girls and women really feel, though they rarely say it. He read it and loved it. He was talking to one of his guy friends about it and ended up sending him one! As I said, I cannot praise it enough; I encourage any and all girls and women to read it. Whether you're young and single, or married with a couple kids. Not to mention that if you're a guy, this book will help you understand us females! =) I've never read a book that so perfectly described the way I feel! It is positively PHENOMENAL!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book on remembering who we are, June 12, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Keeping a Princess Heart: In a Not-So-Fairy-Tale World (Hardcover)
I loved this book! The author talks about how through Christ we are daughters of the King and how important it is to remember our true identity when the world breaks our heart, shatters our dreams, and refuses to recognize who we really are. I especially loved how she talks about woman's innate desire to be found by a prince and how Jesus is that prince for us. Even if an earthly prince never shows up, we can know that our heavenly prince has already found us and that he sees our beauty beneath the rags that this world often forces us to wear, and he loves and cherishes us. I also loved how she talks about the difference between being trying to be a princess in the world (through appearance and fame) and cultivating a princess heart which creates a beauty from within that will last for eternity. I highly recommend this book!

This review is from: Keeping a Princess Heart: In a Not-So-Fairy-Tale World (Hardcover)
This book earned the Women of Faith Book of the Year - and after finishing it, I believe that it is an award well deserved. This book speaks powerful truth about the heart of every woman whether married or single. For all who suffer discouragement in this world - this book offers encouragement and hope by helping you focus on and understand better the love of the only ONE who does not disappoint. I have to say I had a hard time putting it down, and plan on reading it again. As a future counselor, I am sure this book will be one that I will recommend frequently.
