5.0 out of 5 stars great cd. He sounds great
You can surely tell this cd is of when he was younger. His voice sounds it. The songs are great and kinda have a soft rock feel to some of them. There are also honky tonk sounding songs on it. This is a must have for any Keith Fan. I like Only You,Lying in the arms of Mary(not religious) and many other great songs.
PLEASE listen to it more than just once. The young...

3.0 out of 5 stars Keith Urban-1991
This album shows the promise of a very young Keith Urban. The material isn't particularly strong and the production is dated but it is a must for diehard Keith Urban fans. Anyone else...take a pass. My favourites on the album are Future Plans, a remake of Arms of Mary and the instrumental Clutterbilly(a different version than the one included on The Ranch cd).

I'm a Keith Urban fan but I only bought this CD so that I would have all I could get my hands on. I never expected to love it as much as I do. I haven't put "Golden Road" back in the CD player since receiving this one. The songs and performances are wonderful. I highly recomend this CD to anyone who likes good music.

It's certainly a shame they do not re-release this album here. I absolutely love it. So many people are just not willing to search for this one, or buy imported CD's online. Keith is terrific, yes you can tell he was younger here but he has such a wonderful voice, a gift from God above. All Keith fans will cherish this gem. I love "Only You", "Got it Bad", "Hold on to your dreams", "Love We Got Goin", "What Loves is that way"... In all actuality the whole album is great! This is the first album Keith ever made, and it is well worth any effort to find and get it. I know it'll be in my CD player for many weeks and months to come. Experience Keith as never before. Keith is such a blessing to the world of country music and this CD just proves what we've always known about him. He is consistent and he really lets the emotion(s) come through in his music. They capture your attention and your heart. Be sure and get an extra copy or two to share with your family or friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Raw talent, June 21, 2001

There are not many people who have the amount of talent keith urban has. The guitar and his amazing vocal talent make this a MUST HAVE for any keith urban fan. One of the most amazing songs on this album is Blue Stranger. An easily imaginable scenario coupled with the feeling he sings with make it worth the price all by itself.

We are lucky that this cd was re-released. Those of us who didn't know of keith urban or his music until 1997 or later will love having this cd because we really get to hear him when he was first making it big in his homeland. There is a good variety of songs and the melodies and lyrics are truly great. You get all of his talents in this cd, as he provides more than just guitar and vocals on most of the songs. He's an amazing talent... a TOTAL talent.. writer, player, singer... Any keith urban fan will NOT regret buying this album!

4.0 out of 5 stars Introduction to The Thunder from Down Under, June 20, 2005

Keith Urban (1991) Sans the mullet, it is still a great cd. There's an odd mix on the cd of country and pop music. Urban's voice is young , but still very infectious and his guitar skills are better than most artist with more experience. This cd will have you humming right along with "I Never Work On A Sunday;" thinking of a young Dan Fogelberg while listening to "Arms of Mary" "Yesterday" or "The River" and smiling because you know he's going to make an impact in country music with songs like "Clutterbilly" or "What Love Is That Way." It's kind of odd to write a review for something this old, yet there are probably many Urban fans who have not listened to this cd. BUY the cd, and enjoy a very young and talented Keith Urban. My personal favorite song on this cd is "Without You," the vocals are hot, the guitar is even hotter and it's Keith--need I say more.

The music in this album shows Keiths fantastic talent in playing, singing and writing. All the songs on this album are fantastic. I could listen to it for hours. His quitar playing is shear talent. Anyone who likes country music has to have this artist music. Awesome and Talented. He is going places. His music speaks to you. He writes songs with feeling and all his songs are amazing.
All his albums in fact, are a must have. Keith Urban,The Ranch,
Keith Urban 1991, and Golden Road. On the Golden Road Album is a hidden One Chord Song. Look forward to more albums from this artist.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keith Urban - Import 1991, November 18, 2005
This review is from: Keith Urban (Audio CD)
I love Keith. He is an awesome musician, singer, and song writer. Keith was young when this cd was created but his voice is pure and every song is great. Keith couldn't sing a bad song if he tried. Listen to the cd a few times and you will realize that even in 1991 he was destined to do great things. What an amazing person he is and as he has said - but for the Grace of God, we would not have Keith to enjoy. So buy this cd - it is worth the $25 Amazon charges. I tried to buy it cheaper through a sponsor on Amazon and got ripped off so just bite the bullet and pay the price. It is worth every cent.
