This thing cracks us up! We ordered the elephant and our one year old absolutely loves it. He can play with it, but its secure enough that he can't pull it off. It was also an absolute necessity for us - now that he crawls around the tub during bathtime, it was only a matter of time before he knocked his head on the faucet. It puts our minds at ease while entertaining him at the same time.

I will admit that this Hippo spout-cover is cute, but I returned mine because it's hard to get on and off our spout in order to make use of the shower. You can't get to the lever to turn on the shower with this over the spout and this cover fits VERY snugly over the spout. It's also a very basic rubbery cover that's kind of cheap. If you have a tub just for your infant child to use and no one else (or no one who wants to use the shower), this is probably a pretty good thing to get. If your child doesn't have a bathroom of their own, I wouldn't recommend it.

My son has bumped his head a few times on the tub spout, so we decided to get a cover for it. The hippo fits perfectly and is very cute. We all like it. The nose of the hippo is hollow to hold bubble bath, so it is very cushioning and will definitely help prevent tub injuries.

To rebut some of the other reviews: our tub has a separate shower diverter handle, so the spout is a simple one-piece item. The "pull a knob on the spout" type probably won't work with most covers without cutting a hole in them.

I needed something to cover our tub spout because my son is so active in the tub. First we tried the Skip Hop whale thing, but that was a flop - it wouldn't stay on at all. I ordered the Hippo and installed it. My son immediately loved it and deemed it "perfect". However, there was one major problem. It totally blocked the valve that switches our tub to the shower. Well my dad had a great idea - using a sharp blade he cut a small hole in the Hippo's head over the valve allowing us total access to the valve. Perfect! The Hippo stays on great and definitely fully covers the hard metal spout. After its "plastic surgery" it became a great product for us.

The Tubbly Bath Dispenser fit our spout just fine, but minutes later it would work itself off. We tried everything to get it to work with no luck. Fortunately, the company that sells it agreed to let us return it weeks later without a receipt or packaging. Don't even try it...it's not worth it! Look for something else. There are other faucet covers out there.

I read a review for this that states it slides off of their faucet. It does this to mine as well. How ever, I am moving to a new place soon and I hope it will fit there. What happens is that it squeezes itself off of the faucet. It is possible to cut a larger hole reducing the strain on the fit so if it slides at the new place I will just make it fit. That's what a real man does anyways when his little one wants a bubble bath.

We've been using the Tubbly Bubbly Hippo on our bathtub faucet for about 6 months now and I couldn't be happier with a purchase. My daughter loves it, and even when she's fallen in the tub hitting her head on the faucet, because the Hippo was there, she didn't get injured. I love it and would recommend anyone with an active toddler gets something like this.

I've had the Hippo faucet cover for over six months and I think it's great! My son is always sitting near the faucet and this definitely prevents him from getting hurt. It is a little bit of a pain to take off if you need to use the shower but otherwise I think it's worth it! The only problem I found with the Hippo cover is that it doesn't really dispense bubble bath well.

I bought the hippo. Cute...but it doesn't stay on the tub spout. My son immediately pulled it off and wants to play with it. So now its just a tub toy.

The hippo is cool, but has one flaw, the water shoots our from the back also.
its not significant amount which only allows for one star reduction, but if it all came out the mouth it would be perfect.
my 13month son loves it. before he would not go near the spout, but now he wants to stick his finger in the nostrils and play with the water,
bath times has become more eventful and fun rather than dreadful all because of the hippo!
