It starts with talent, drive and star quality, that undefinable but clearly identifiable trait she possess in abundance. she combines beauty, wit, humor and guilelessness in a way that attracted fans from her first days in the national spotlight, and she has proven over and over that there is a great deal of substance under the blond-haired, light-hearted exterior

Kellie's first two albums quickly established her as both a singer and songwriter to be reckoned with co-writing her hits "Red High Heels," I Wonder" and the top Ten Hit "Best Days of Your Life" which sold more than one million single downloads. Each album showed growth not only as an artist but also as a woman.

Kellie returns with "Tough" her first new single in more than a year. Written specifically for Kellie by songwriter Leslie Satcher, the two became friends while writing together and Satcher penned a song about Kellie's life from conversations and direct quotes from Kellie. Of the single, Music Row Magazine’s Bob Oermann says, “This rumbling, romping rhythm number has a lyric with real moxie, and she delivers it with just the right amount of sass.”

Currently putting the finishing touches on her third album with producer Frank Liddell (Miranda Lambert, Lee Ann Womack), Kellie has been greatly involved in the process of making an album. From writing many of the songs to conversations with the musicians on certain sounds she's wanting on the album, the new record features a more earthy quality with a less is more approach from instrumentation to production. The album is slated for a late fall release.

A lifelong student of country music, she is a fan of legends including Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard as well as modern-day talents like Jamey Johnson and Lee Ann Womack. The lessons she draws from them have become part of her artistic make-up. “I write what my soul tells me to write,” she says. “I realized the key to writing is just being true and writing what is real. It’s why country music has such an impact. It’s music people relate to because it’s about telling true stories.” She treats her singing the same way.

Along the way, her four USO Tours have become life changing experiences for her. "The USO Tours have been a highlight of my career and life. It's been the most impactful, life-changing thing I've been able to do," she says.
