I have been surfing over 15 years and have played just about every surfing game made. This one is BY FAR the best surfing game ever made. I got Transworld Surf and returned it the same day... pretty graphics... [BAD] surfing mechanics.

I went to my surf buddy's house and played Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer and it rocked! It really FEELS like you are surfing, and the waves are spectacular. Someone mentioned having to save dolphins and wait to get money? That is the wrong game. This is all about surfing... surfing... surfing. You can do all the classic surfing moves and more. I was finally glad to have a game where you can do a decent off the lip / snap.

If you're into surfing, this is THE title to pick up. Rent it... if you like it... buy it... and maybe they'll put out some more.

"Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer" has to be the best surfing game I have ever played. The "Xbox" along with "Kelly Slater..." deliver excellent screenshots and detail. I being from Idaho don't make it to the ocean much but, "Kelly Slater..." gives me a sense of almost being at the ocean. Unlike some games, "Kelly Slater..." allows you to take a course on how to do the basic tricks. It also has some awesome footage of real live beaches, oceans and of course surfers! Surf in the Indoor Wave pool in Japan or hit the beaches in the USofA. There is lot's to do in my opinion. I rate this as one of the TOP 5 games I have played for Xbox, if not the #1 game!

I've never been into gaming, or have even considered buying a game console, but when I played this game on the demo PS2 console at WalMart, I was instantly hooked and wanted to buy a console just for this game. After some research, I ordered the Xbox promotional pack with the 2 free games and of course Kelly Slater Pro Surfer for Xbox, understanding that the Xbox graphics are much superior to PS2. As a life long surfer currently on injured reserve recovering from ACL surgery, this game is a God-send. By the time I'm in condition to get back in the water, my three new surfboards should be finished and ready to go. And I'll be totaly stoked and praising the Lord, thanks in part to Kelly Slater and the gang!

Having been a big fan of THPS and every surfing game that has come out, I must say Kelly Slater Pro Surfer is by far the best of breed. The game play has that same freedom that THPS brings to the table. The waves and graphics are excellent. There are a potporri of many tricks and real pros to choose from. Career mode will keep you coming back for more and more. The only downer would be for non-surfers; the levels and goals might start to feel the same after the first half of the 16 are unlocked.
If you like skating, snowboarding, and biking games you should enjoy this, I would suggest renting it first. If you're a surfer or keep up with surfing definitely BUY IT NOW!!!!

This is a fun game when you need to take a break from first person shooters or stupid Mario type coin collecting games. I love the sound track also.

This is the best surfing game ever. Which, we all have to admit, is not the greatest accomplishment and and of itself. It is, however, still a fun game. There are around a dozen real-world waves, each modeled to look like the real thing. There are scores of moves for each surfer, and a fair amount of unlockables - outfits, boards, beaches.

This is not a simulator (go do the real thing if you want to be a "surfer"). As previous reviews have stated, think Tony Hawk on the water. The waves last forever, but there are a few closeout sections that need to be navigated.

Graphics have held up pretty well since there are essentially only two objects - the surfer and the wave. Sound effects are typical for this genre: generic splashes during moves and screams of terror upon a wipeout . Music is great and I never got tired of it. Ranges from trance to reggae to rock. All very appropriate.

Very worth looking into especially given the prices of used xbox games.

I like surfing better than skating and this delivers. The graphics and controls are pretty sweet and there are tons of unlockables. If you like surfing this game is awesome.

i saw the kelly slater espn show where him and some other surfers were making this game, they were playing it and it looked really fun, on guy what obsessed and he couldnt leave. they really seemed to enjoy it and i think that we will too, they also said that the moves that they do are are specificly made so it looks just like that specific surfers movement, also all the boards are actually their boards, even the ones they had as kids, im buying it as soon as it comes out
