Not what I was hoping,

I gave the product 2 stars because living in a warm weather climate but having a small backyard I was looking forward to the portability and hopefully the sturdiness of the product. Unfortunately, as some might be able to read on the Target related reviews of the same product here, I weigh about 185,6ft "normal" guy and was quickly sinking to where I could basically feel the support poles every time. Unfortunately what would have been perhaps a 4 star comment later on became a 2 because my father laid down to relax, and he weights perhaps 200-210 max and the support structure completely ripped through, and he could have injured himself pretty badly. So I guess it's really the luck of the draw and I might risk myself at purchasing one again but through a brick and mortar store to be sure it can be returned.

This portable hammock is a really nice purchase. It's pretty comfy and great to use in and outside. My only problems was it seems to weight more the 22lbs. It is still easy enough to carry around. Also, it doesn't have the big swing range of regular hammocks but I guess that's an ok trade off just to be able to take it with you. This is a very sturdy product that's a good size and I recommend it.

I love this hammock and use it all the time. I have no dining room table, so have instead created a reading lounge with my trusty hammock as the center-piece in my apartment. It's perfect in a room with a lot of light and can't be beat as a spot to read. I have hardwood floors. At first that was a bit of a concern, however, the frame is great because it has these nice little plastic bottoms that don't scratch the floor.
Cons? 1) You can take short naps, but it's not recommended for sleepovers. 2) House guests are bewildered because you have a hammock in your dining room. 3) As others have noted, the tension leaves a bit to be desired. Don't let your 200+ lb friends sit in it or it will lose a little of its snap. 4) You will get fewer chores done. 5) You can't eat from it as easily as you would a kitchen table. 6) Can also be a bit difficult to get out of the hammock A) because it's tricky B) why get up? More Pros: 1) You get a very "aloha" vibe about you when you chill in the hammock. 2) House guests are bewildered because you have a hammock in your dining room. 3) When you take it to the park, everyone is jealous. 4) It's super easy to set up. 5) Makes a nice phone booth. Overall impression: There's definitely something special about lounging around in a hammock that changes your perspective on things. I can't put my finger on it, but I'm going to keep trying to figure it out. Recommended for: bachelorettes, people with no furniture, 180 lbs and under Not Recommended for: cats, small kids, antsy people, really old people **U P D A T E** How not to fall down when getting out of the hammock: Carefully choose your footing by planting one foot underneath the hammock instead of outside of the frame. This gives you a sturdy base from which to stand up from. Viola!
