I work for the manufacturer and we are aware of the mesh tearing problem from last year and have corrected this issue with all current inventory. The seams are more secure and we have not had any issues since the fix was put in place. It is a great item and if you're interested, don't let the ratings from 2008 sway your decision. Give it a try!

Though this thing is supposed to support 250 pounds (I weigh 200), I'd only been in it 15 minutes the first time I used it and it ripped along the seams. I called the company that sells it (Swimways) and requested a replacement, which arrived within a few days. That one, too, ripped the first time I used it. This is quite possibly the greatest waste of money I've ever spent.

Great Looks, good portability but totally unreliable. It broke down in less then 2 months. I wish they had made it more durable.

ONCE YOU GET SET IN IT YOU CAN SLEEP AWAY ON THE BEACH...I AM NOW LOOKING FOR AN UMBRELLA ATTACHMENT.. HEEHEHEHE

HIGH QUALITY.. PERFECT HAMMOCK.. ONLY TWO PARTS..THE STAND AND THE HAMMOCK.. HOW EASIER COULD THEY HAVE MADE THIS ONE!

Since I could'nt leave zero stars I give it a 1 because the frame was impressive,too bad that's not the part you lay on.This POS ripped the very first time I used it.Find something made in the USA!China is killing us with their junk.

I purchased this product two months ago and despite the reassurance that quality has improved my hammock tore at one end when a friend lay on it. He's about 180 lbs. I'll see if Dick's will accept the return, but in my opinion it's a pretty poorly constructed product. Frame is pretty neat, though. Too bad the hammock sling is so poorly made.

This fits perfectly on my daughter's city apartment balcony. It is easy to put up and to take down, so she can lay about during the day in it, take it down, and entertain people that evening using her patio furniture without the hammock taking up the limited space.

The fold-up stand is an engineering marvel; a small woman has no trouble folding or unfolding it, and it is very sturdy. The fabric of the hammock is thin, but the seams look secure; time will tell. Nifty product.

The design of this hammock frame is really clever. It folds down into a very neat package all in one piece. Set up and take down are both very quick and easy. The whole thing fits into a very neat, rectangular package. It's the dead of Winter here now, so we wont actually use the hammock for several months. In the living room it seems very comfortable.
